Going to NCAA Baseball Lubbock Regional to root for my Lobos.

Should be a tough regional with Fairfield (CT) #4 seed, Lobos #3 seed, Dallas Baptist #2 seed (a Super Regional host last year) and #5 Texas Tech the host.

Any recommendations from my RU brethren?

There is a "Bricktown" area right off campus with some bars and restaurants. Other than that, enjoy the baseball games.

Is stay away an option?

STD capital of Texas...scary, ugly, dusty and dirty place! And home to that giant community college, tejas tech...

Oh beat that trash heap of a school out of their national seed...

Is it possible to do the trip without the "Texas"?

Texas, as a whole, is absolutely atrocious. It fills Jesus with rage.

Spent a week in Lubbock. A week I'll never get back, lol. I don't "hate" any place, but this was near the bottom of the list of places I've spent time in. Was there for a process safety conference at Texas Tech (one of the leaders in the field of munitions and blowing stuff up for fun and evaluating what happens) and not that that's a wild group, but damn, there was not much to do.

If you're a big music fan, I'm sure they have a Buddy Holly museum or birthplace to visit since he was from there.
