We're looking to book a vacation to Orlando, and one of the options is with Jet Blue. I recall a few people posting about having problems with this airline - can folks share what they've experienced? Thanks!

JetBlue is the best. Free checked bag (for now), DirecTV at every seat, they're not stingy with drinks/snacks, and the flight attendants are always helpful. I can't imagine having a problem with JB that wouldn't be much worse if dealing with AA, United, Delta, etc.

JetBlue is my personal favorite.

Nothing but good things to say about JetBlue. They are reducing their seat sizes and they are still larger then any other airlines I've flown. If I could only take them I would.

Spanky, Flew to Orlando with the wife 6-7 times a year for about 5 years. Now we stay longer so we drive, but still use JB for our short stays there. Started with United but wouldn't p*ss on them if they were on fire they are the worst! JB has always been GREAT! Friendly, helpful, cheerful, caring crews (and I hate sitting in planes). We even got a Amex JB card they are so good. In an age of dying "customer service" JET BLUE is one of the few companies I would highly recommend with no worry! Enjoy your time in Orlando the parks have add a lot of new stuff I'm sure your boys will have fun with.

I've had a personal experience with JetBlue and an indirect one. I flew JB from JFK to Charlotte and return. I was blown away. As mentioned above, first bag checked is free. The seats were spacious and very comfortable. The piece de resistance was that they serve Dunkin Donuts coffee on the flight! The flight attendant offered me a snack, but when she dug into her basket she didn't have any. I took something else, and then not 3 minutes later she came back with the original item. Be sure to bring your own earphones for the excellent in seat video offerings.
OTOH, I did a favor for a neighbor and took her to EWR for a JB flight to Florida at 9 AM. The flight was cancelled and their next flight was at 4PM. They just don't have as many flights out of EWR as JFK

No airline is ever perfect...but for a "short" 2 plus hour flight...hard to beat Jet Blue.

Its a crying shame that most airlines (believe all but Jet Blue and Southwest) charge (most passengers) for checked luggage...as they (and all airlines) add "fees" which are not taxed the same as "airline fares", which pushes up airlines profitability.

Jet Blue and Southwest are 2 of the airlines that were created with consumers in mind. Delta, American / US Air, and United are more focused on business travelers. The big 3 tend to nickle and dime pleasure travelers for many services that Jet Blue and Southwest provide for free.

When pricing out your trip consider this for a family of 4:
- Big 3 luggage - $25 a bag for luggage (approximately $100) or else you have to carry it on and limit the size of your toiletries and won't be able to put a couple of bottles of water in your bag.
- Big 3 entertainment - you will pay about $7 per person for DirecTV - This can be another $20 or so you spend.
- Jet Blue - allows 1 free bag per traveler (you can check 4 bags for 4 travelers with normal sized toiletries and a few drinks to enjoy in your hotel so you don't need to pay potentially higher prices at your hotel. Free DirecTV so you don't have to worry about paying to be entertained.

Service - Jet Blue cares more about the pleasure traveler while the big 3 care more about the business traveler. On a United flight from Newark you will notice 25-50% of the plane has some kind of status from business travel, credit cards, or other means. The average pleasure traveler will likely be boarding later and have no overhead space.

They have been phenomenal to the law enforcement community. For that I will fly with them whenever I go to florida

I think OP may be referencing an incident or two where Jet Blue flights were stranded for hours on the tarmac for some reason or another. While those instances would obviously suck, they are not the norm. I love Jet Blue, would fly them exclusively if I could.

I have been a little more impressed with American and US Air lately, with United having dropped off big time.

None are great, but the first two have at least tried to pick up their games.

Best airline- Emirates. Nothing public comes close.

To clarify not the seat widths which will still be the typical narrowbody Airbus seats of 17.8" to 18" between the armrests. But the seat pitches (leg room) are shrinking from 34" to 33", as they are under investor pressure to squeeze an extra row or two in per flight.

That being said the industry average seat pitch is 30" to 31", Virgin America is 32" and JetBlue will now be 33". Bottom line my favorites are Virgin America and JetBlue, most comfortable planes and the best in flight experience. Delta after going the United route for many years is rebounding big time with customer experience and service.

The wife and I just went to Universal last week and flew JetBlue for the first time. I would definitely recommend them. They even boarded from the back of the plane first, which I haven't seen done in a while.

If I'm buying tickets paying cash (vs. using miles), 80% of the time, I end up flying JetBlue, followed by Virgin America if I'm flying on their route. For miles, I'm vested in AA / US Airways and out of the Big 3, thankfully so - United & Delta aren't worth any of my money or miles. . AA seem to be upgrading their planes and just introduced availability to Europe without the expensive surcharges you'd incur flying their partners, not to mention, they haven't faced a massive devaluation yet .

I live in greater Orlando and have never had an issue with JetBlue. They are often my 1st leg to Europe when I change at BWI or Newark. never a problem.

I had an incident like this with Southwest. When flying into and out of Newark United controls most of the airport and seems to get preference on slots. I was stuck for an extra 3 hours in Phoenix with a Southwest flight while the United flight scheduled to leave at the same time didn't have delays. It was a day with some bad weather in the NJ area causing delays.

Jet Blue has a lot of slots in JFK but in Newark they are not going to have preference over United.

I've flown JetBlue domestic and International...there is no comparison to the other US carriers.
