Let's go Bart!!! Let's go Mets!!!!
That was amazing and so is Bartolo.Great scene. When the ball left the park, the entire Mets team made a beeline to the clubhouse tunnel, leaving Bart to be greeted by an empty dugout. A variation on the old "silent treatment". Of course that only lasted for a few seconds before they all came out and mobbed him.
Nice story. The thing about Bart is he does not look athletic, but he is still playing and competing very well against players nearly half his age.I pitched until I was 42 from the age of 9. I miss it every day.My last game was in a men's league in San Diego . I actually won the game but when I walked off the mound I told my ex and her son that I was done. And I was. What this guy is,doing at that age and built somewhat like I was ,and am, is just amazing
,
lolE5 For him or me? I am a member of FAA
FAT ATHLETES OF AMERICA
The only thing that would have made that funnier is if he started high-fiving air in the empty dugout.Great scene. Definitely a great call by Cohen. True excitement in his voice.
Does he pinch hit or pinch run, you know ... in a pinch !!!Bat him cleanup. :)
False. See Rivera, ReneBartolo now has more hrs this year than all of the met catchers combined.
Whoops good call. It's all evened up.False. See Rivera, Rene
Is it just me or does Flores have a weak arm? Today when he took the cutoff when the pitcher was called out at home, his throw was a 2 hopper. Have seen other instances of weak throws.Your comment raises an interesting question though. Well at least I think it's interesting, since I am the one asking it:
With d'Arnaud on d'L (again) until God only knows when, should the Mets make a move for Jonathan Lucroy? Recall that last year, Wheeler/Flores to the Brewers for Carlos Gomez was a done deal. Would the same package, plus their choice of Plawecki or d'Arnaud, bring back Lucroy?
My guess is no, as catcher is a premium position and Flores' stock may have dropped since then. Plus with most of the pitching prospects (most notably Fulmer) gone, I'm sure that Sandy is less inclined to give up Wheeler. But you never know...
No need for Lucroy, Mets would have to trade a ton plus give him a big contract. He has a team option at the end of the year. Travis was a top 5 offensive catcher last year when healthy, Plawecki has a nice opportunity to fill in while he's out. A game changing trade would be a SS but Cabrera has done a great job and can bridge the gap to that stud prospect Rosario.Your comment raises an interesting question though.
