OT - Beasley Broadcast Group buys WCTC, others

Hopefully this means they get a signal that reaches more than four miles. If not,we really need to get our games and coaches shows on a station/s that reach all of the state and not just Franklin Twp. to Marlboro. We are a state university in the Big Ten and Monmouth has better NJ stations.

The signal power is determined by the frequency and the FCC.

In the daytime I get it as far west as the Pennsylvania border on Route 78.

At night they are required to lower the power by the FCC.

That goes to show you the FCC doesn't care one bit about NJ. If it isn't NYC or Philly, then NJ doesn't need it.:chairshot: As much as parts of NJ are blended into NYC and Philly, it's still its own state with different needs and wants.

WCTC has always had trouble sending its signal north of Bridgewater, day or night. Even WOR isn't great at night after 7 pm. The state university should be heard everywhere in the state for sporting events. WBB basically has no coverage beyond the college borders.

I am near Spotswood and I cannot get WCTC on a handheld radio.
