Please post pics and video of the test. Keep it firm!

Thoughts: figure out how your self respect ever sunk to a level that sees you gabbing about mattress shopping with wifey on a football message board in a thread called "bed guyz". Then, appropriate that $500 toward that.

I'd pass on any Stearns&Foster bed. The wife and i bought a high end mattress that had depressions within a month. They replaced it and the 2nd one had the same after 6 month. They wouldn't replace that one. Never again

While we are here, <here comes the hijack>

I dropped some significant dough on a high end king size mattress earlier this year. I hate it, and it is giving me all sorts of back issues. Is there anything I can do? Do I have any option other than to scrap it/give it away and go buy a new one?

Buy a mattress topper that will somehow balance out whatever is wrong with the mattress you bought?

I also heard somewhere that mattress makers have different model names for the same mattress. Sleepy's will use one model name and Macy's will use a different model name but they are the same mattress. So the Tinsley at MattressFirm may be called 'Regal' at Sleepy's.

Casper or any of the similar brands that give you 100 or whatever nights to try it out and will come pick it up if you don't like it and give a full return.

A bed is one of the most important purchases of your life. It's never about brand, to me. It's about comfort level. Always always always just go to a mattress shop or five and just lay on all of the beds until you feel one that feels comfortable. I went with a Attitude Gel Euro Top from Bob's Discount Furniture. I've never had better sleep.

I sold bedding, part time, over 30 years ago. Then,STEARNS & FOSTER was a high end mattress. The manufacturers do put different names on the same units, for different stores,so that the customer can not shop them price wise.

First thing I did when I purchased my last bed was try to remember the hotels where I liked the beds.

I settled on a Westin "Heavenly" bed. Didn't get the real one ($$$), but got one with practically the specs from the same manufacturer without all the branding.

"Test drove" it at the showroom a few times before finally pulling the trigger from an online retailer (be careful: they call the same exact bed different names to make price shopping difficult, but if you're google-savvy you'll be able to figure out what's what).

4 years later, some minor sagging issues, but that's practically unavoidable.

Satisfied overall.

Good luck!

Bought a Select Comfort mattress over 20 years ago, and we still like it a lot. People seem to either lover them or hate them. Best part is that the king bed is easy to move, as you break it into pieces and reassemble in the new location.

I love their bed. That is my plan. Would you mind sharing the exact name of the mattress? Thanks.
