Bound Brook
My wife and I are hosting a little shindig in our backyard to celebrate our son's first birthday. We're doing a tailgate theme, and among my responsibilities are cake, keg, and wings. I've got the first two covered, but I'm not sure where to get the wings. I'll only need about 100. Obviously, as they're not for me, I don't want anything too scorching hot. Anyone have a good recommendation for a place near Bound Brook? Thanks in advance.

South Side Grille in South Bound Brook has good meaty wings with a good variety of sauces (buffalo garlic and carribean jerk are very good). IMHO, the best of the bars in the area. I usually go there to watch Eagles games when they are not on Monday/Sunday nights. Talk to Harry, he's the restaurant manager and also a RU grad and Eagles fan.

Also, if you and the people at your party like good beer, head down the street to Demented Brewing in Middlesex. They have a really good selection of craft brews that they'll sell you sixtels of.

If you're willing to drive to NB, the Olive Branch has my favorite wings on the planet. Huge, juicy and very tasty and not too hot, if you don't want them hot.

The Branch is definitely within my driving radius. I've eaten there quite a few times, but oddly I've never gotten the wings. I think it's obvious what I need to do. I must try wings from every place mentioned in this thread so I can make an informed decision. To me, that just makes good sense.

I like Gabrielle's in Piscataway. I usually buy the baked wings, but for last week's game I tried the traditional buffalo style, which were crispy and not overly hot. Thought they were pretty good!

I agree, the Olive Branch definitely makes the best wings around.

I still remember when Cluck U opened on Easton Ave, next to or near Thomas Sweet Ice Cream. I lived on Hamilton St then near Easton Ave, god , talk about late night snacks ! Would hit Olde Queens Tavern, or Patti's (now Olive Branch), or better yet The Showcase Lounge !, get a buzz, then hit one of (if not both) of these places on the walk back.
The Good ole days, lol.

Freddy's at Pierce
Sports Bar & Grill - Somerset
(corner of Worlds Fair Dr and Pierce St)

Just like any place that has wings on the menu, it depends on which day you go and which chef - the wings can be awesome or simply very good
I like that they double cook to make crispy and infuse the sauce rather than be all runny.
Good beer selection and a pool table
I rate South BrookGrille a close 2nd place.
