It's being reported that Carrie Fisher had "a massive cardiac" on a United flight from London to LAX, 15 minutes out of Los Angeles. There is no official word at this time, however witnesses are reporting that she was unconscious & unresponsive and that personnel were administering CPR. Those are bad odds.

Having heard unresponsive with my father-in-law before...not good. Rushed my wife to mountainside hospital with my kIds it didn't work out well for her. Still hear the blood curdling screams thru the emergency room doors as me and my daughters were coming from parking garage after we dropped her off. Nurse met my kid's and I outside and said she needed my help. Knew before hand he didn't or wasn't going to make it but couldn't tell her. Rough rough day 3 yrs ago as of 1/11. Wife has not recovered to date

She is known for fixing scripts.. improving them. Princess Leia, Script Doctor
Very true, Good.

In fact, one of LA's leading script doctors. Affleck and Damon burst on the Hollywood scene with their movie Good Will Hunting. But dirty little secret their script needed "work", Fisher was brought in to do the rewrite and should have been given the Oscar for "Best Original Screenplay" not Affleck/Damon it's been said!

Isn't that a HIPAA violation?

lol...

I was thinking about that, but decided to let it go.

And she isn't "stable", per se. The quote was that "she's been stabilized." Those are two very different things. Per her brother, just a few minutes ago, she's in ICU and is on a ventilator. She could come around, but the odds are, she's gorked.

Um yea, I never said she was stable because I'm at a bar here in NJ & not privy to any medical info.

Stable doesn't tell you a lot. It's more like a state of a condition than a condition report. You can be in "critical but stable" condition. Either way, sad story. It has been a rotten year for loss.

Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds owned the 50's.Carrie is as eccentric as they get but is an icon of the 70's. She apparently worked hard to lose the weight and fight her demons and now this.?Sad.

That's a great piece of movie trivia, never knew that.

Hope the Princess makes a recovery.

Also :

"While Carrie Fisher is best known for playing Princess Leia in Star Wars, she branched off into professional writing after the success of the series' original trilogy. She showed off her razor-sharp wit with the novel and film Postcards From the Edge and the soul-piercing memoir Wishful Drinking. Fisher also worked as a script doctor on the films Hook, Sister Act, and The Wedding Singer, among others.

Her unexpected work on Lethal Weapon 3 was her most notable job as a ghostwriter in Hollywood. The strange pairing received mostly mixed reviews, but garnered hefty box office receipts with $321.7 million worldwide in 1992."
