OT: Carrie Fisher Passed Away

Bummer, thought she was going to make it. Tough year-glad to see 2016 in the tail lights for various reasons.
This year can't end fast enough. Personally, lost three aunts an uncle and my old boss.
Its only gonna get worse... Hollywood has grown tremendously over the years and there are more stars than ever. We're not getting any younger. I'm 32, my idols growing up were all action stars. Its gonna be a very sad day for me when Arnold goes.
people will be saying the same thing in 2017, 2018, 2019. We had more stars than ever that came out of the 50s 60s and 70s and they will be dying in large numbers soon

Very sad. Gave great interviews in that you never knew what she would say, but it always came across as 100% honest. Plus she didn't care if she pissed people off.

The mods have been oversensative of late. All these deaths and people crying on a football board. I just don't know why these threads aren't moved to the CE board. It's not like I come to the football board to read obituaries especially when there is news of it everywhere.
I think its relevant as more people read this board than the others. I oft break or get breaking news here.

Well it's sort of football related. She was in movies that featured the Death Star and if RU could have come up with just a few more trillion we could have built our own Death Star as part of the stadium expansion. I saw lots of talk about it back then, I was quite excited.
the past few years (especially this year) have been pretty brutal for huge stars of the 80s... Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, David Bowie, Muhammad Ali, Ultimate Warrior, George Michael, Arnold Palmer, Buddy Ryan, Gordie Howe, Alan Thicke, Carrie Fisher... its like everyone I watched on tv, movies or listened to back when I was little.
I stopped coming here for football news a long time ago. I come here for all other news.
A lot of people don't read the CE Board.Even more aren't constantly following news.Then,too are the less than iconic people who pass away but should be considered noteworthy.
Very sorry to see her pass away. Honestly was never that big a fan of her Princess Leia, but I know I'm in a minority on that!
I'm certainly not opposed to these threads on this board. But when mods are deleting posts and blocking people from posting in these threads than its time to move it to the CE board.
Remember her in one of her first roles in "Shampoo" in 1975. Plays a teenager (she was only 19 at the time) who seduces Warren Beatty.
Which I did not realize until tonight when I was reading some of the stories about her.

On a lighter note just came back from Rougue one.....great great movie
coke and alcohol are not your friend...she was batshit crazy and was in and out of rehab for years.....these stars all cannot handle success and fame or deal with their personal lives and always turning to drugs...Prince, George Michael and Carrie Fischer this year, Whitney and Michael Jackson in previous years.
Just saw Rogue Nation on Christmas day (won't ruin it...but she has a small part).
She will be missed.
