OT: Don't forget to watch March of the Wooden Soldiers

Not tryiing to stir the pot, but I tried once, and thought it was dull.
What is the attraction besides the tradition?

Do you listen to Alice's Restaurant on 104.3 too?

haters gonna hate...and no I dont listen to Alice's Restaurant..now that is boring
No hate. Just was trying to understand the fascination. One man's treasure is another's trash. If you like it, great. I hate Alice's Restaurant.
I can't watch Twilight Zone marathons, but can watch Honeymooners and Odd Couple marathons non-stop.

I think you'd either have to have watched as a kid or have young kids of your own to have a greater chance of liking it. Really not just this but probably a quite a few of these older classic movies. I used to like the big toy soldiers and the boogeymen when I was a kid but obviously doesn't hold the same fascination for me now. Other holiday classics like It's a Wonderful Life and almost every version of Christmas Carol I still like just like I did growing up. So it depends.

But I think if you come "fresh" out of nowhere without any of the nostalgia from childhood or current young children these older movies are probably harder to enjoy.

Don't forget to watch the Yule log.

It's nostalgic for us old folks. Brings back lots of good memories of when times were simpler, there weren't nearly the amount of TV choices and many loved ones were around who are since long gone. I can't watch it end-to-end, but tuning in each year for a little while is nice.

ah ha..that's the problem with our offense. Somebody forgot to press the big red button on their backs!

how many of you actually have tried to take a stick and do that thing with a dart? (spent years attempting as a kid)

wooden soldiers movie can induce nightmares for little kids. I love Laurel & Hardy as well as tradition, but I don't need to see that film again, at least not in the morning when I am still sober.

The movie is like the NBA. The last few minutes are all that matter.
I like "King Kong" and "Might Joe Young" more

Arlo Guthrie just appeared at the theatre at Ocean County College
Did NOT do Alice's Restaurant
Did do a lot of Dylan

First video of a same sex marriage? Barnaby and Stan Laurel? Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Always watch the movie. 1934 classic.

Every year PIX11 airs 'March of the Wooden Soldiers' for the holidays. Tell us: Should the movie be aired in black and white or in color this Christmas?

Oh it's terrible. It can only be the tradition, one thankfully, I was not subjected to.
