OT: FIU player burned by girlfriend

As a nurse I can tell you that burns are the worst injury you can inflict in someone. The pain is excruciating, the wet to dry dressing changes would make you welcome death & the scars are forever & quite possibly requiring of more surgeries if you get contractures. Its the type of thing that you wish upon your worst enemy or your ex husband not some poor college kid who now has his future ripped from him by some hormonal psychopath.

I am willing to bet if this happened to one of our players we wouldn't find the humor in it nor would we find it amusing that others were making fun of the situation. Dark humor when its your blind mother or your fathers missing kidney is one thing. Its really not so funny in this situation.

Burn marks never go away. Because of past injustices men in the U.S. are being expected to endure disrespect in the workplace, view physical violence by women as a non-punishable crime. Then have men themselves joke about the incident.

Several years ago a Mary Winkler gunned down her husband and only served 1year in prison. She claimed years of DV but there was no history of violence, no hospital reports and no 911 calls. This woman should have been sentenced to a much stiffer sentence but with three young children and 10 women and 2 men on the jury she basically beat a 1st degree murder charge.

Then we wonder how & why Donald Trump won this election.

Well said MrsScrew. Posters who are making jokes are thinking about the pain and disfigurement that this young man will endure going forward. If we did there wouldn't be so many jokes posted.

I also note your comment referring to extreme burns and saying that it is something you would wish on an ex husband or enemy. Are you saying that burning someone with boiling water is on the table in certain situations in life ? I don't think it is under any situation.

No its not appropriate. Its just my equilivent of " I hope you die or I wish you were dead". I don't wish death on my enemies I prefer to secretly hope for single car crashes with 3rd degree burns over 75% of their body.
