OT: Fred Hill stepping down as Hall Assistant

Gotcha. Hey they used to say Mike Rice cheated. Not sure any of that is true but I wouldn’t stake my life on it either.

Lol he probably did, but lets not get defensive here. I'm not trolling I am giving you credible info right from the source

Kinda like most of your posts.:flush:

The rat can’t break through the 2% barrier. More than 10k posts and all of 190 likes. Telling even among his brethren.

Seriously, X2? You have just 36 likes with almost 2K posts and you are ragging RAT about not enough "likes". We all know how to troll for likes as fishermen do in a quiet stream, but that is not a wonderful measure, is it? This is not the old BE days, with various SHU posters coming here to flame and various RU posters going to the SHU Board to flame. Little Red Schoolhouse and all that. Why can't you guys be more like SPK or Source, who always added content when they posted on the RU Board? Or did I answer my own question?

Likes here only count for likes you get here, but total posts is all posts on any board.

Correct as to Likes.

Total posts shown here dates back a couple of years and then only adds new posts made here to the total posts everywhere as that total stood back then. To illustrate, Seton 75 actually has 42,000+ total posts today vs the 34,785 posts shown on his response above. I've got a few more (3,000+) than shown above.Strange? Warning: posting here may enter the poster into the Twilight (make that Scarlet Knight) Zone. lol

Seton--would guess that would apply to the number of posts, which now number over 3 million and recycle at the end of the year. Must represent all posts from all schools' boards, pay or free. Because we are talking maybe 7, 8 million posts per year.

You have any clue about member numbers? Was hot and on cold whether these were by school, or universal, and decided that each school had its own numbering system. For example, there's another 50--BD68, who is probably not RU, either. They started this in Spring 2001, activating dozens at once, and all the RU numbers tracked pretty well. Until they didn't. You have any insight into member numbers?

BTW, should have included you as one of the SHU posters who is always welcomed on our boards, not that SHU posters need approval to post, but some are more welcome than others.

Just speculating. But at age 59, he's probably earned and saved more than most have at his age. And as others have pointed out, recruiting teenagers is a younger man's game if you're not the head coach. So I don't see any reason to suspect anything more than a mutual agreement that he should retire and do something else with his life.

I think that Freddie would make a good street agent, possibly bringing scholarships to overseas kids thru college basketball.

I say this because Freddie is experienced dealing with street agents when he was a HC. Who was the guard that RU got from Kosovo who showed up on campus with a bad ankle and barely played? I met the street agent at the RAC who brought him in while sitting behind the RU bench. Lots of schools deal with these types of guys. Iona has been playing this game since the Jeff Ruland days, and many schools sign players without ever seeing them play before coming on campus.

Darko Matijasevic. Brought in by Wenzel and languished under Bannon. Replaced by Connor Fox!:sunglasses:

I looked it up and the player was Muhamed Hasani. The above Tom Luicci article outlines some of the connections that got Hasani to RU when Fred Hill had never seen him play. The article mentions the Newark East Side basketball program, a notorious and rogue program that imported foreign born players and set them up in apartments together to get them eligible. I believe that the head coach of that program may have been banned by the NJSIAA for life. Anyone who has ever met Ed Leibowitz surely understands the MO of this practice.

Good find - and good memory. He was only here a couple months. I have blocked out a lot of the FHJ era...
