The Yankee left hander instigated MLB's most ever unusual trade in 1973 by swapping his whole family- including the dog -for the family of another teammate, lefty Mike Kekich.
It worked out for him,as he stayed with the former Susan Kekich until the end of his life.Kekich and Marilyn Peterson split up shortly thereafter.
No one ever asked the dog for his opinion.

The Mike Kekich part of the trade was like the bad side of a Brian Cashman trade. By the end of that season Mike was out of baseball for good and alone. Fritz Peterson was never his former self but stayed around for a few more years. Before 1973 Fritz was a pretty good pitcher with an above average record and his ERA was in the mid .200s, high season was .347 his second year on a very bad NY Mets type of club that DeGrom played on.
