When is the new NJIT arena supposed to open ?

NJIT wins 63-60. Plays Columbia on Easter. This wins gives the Highlanders back to back twenty win seasons and I think back to back CIT semi finals.

I haven't seen any news on the progress of their arena, but the coach says that fund raising is progressing along. They had groundbreaking and completion is scheduled for fall of 2017.

NJIT is an awesome turnaround story. I remember a few years ago they were the worst in division 1. Now they are a formidable team.

@HeavenUniv. ...there was supposed to be a groundbreaking ceremony in Nov-2015, with construction to start after that date, but I have not read any updates from the project since...expected date for completion is 2017...

Not an outrageous prediction at all. Which is the more likely occurrence in the next 3-4 years -- NJIT winning the Atlantic Sun, or us finishing at .500 in the B1G? Probably the former.

I was at NJIT today. Sight work is well underway for their new multipurpose athletic facility. Haven't heard about the coach search.
