What are the rules (NJSIAA) for football teams holding (off-season) workouts? Can any team hold workouts with or without coaches at this time of the year?
Without coaches kids can do whatever they want. What are the rules (NJSIAA) for football teams holding (off-season) workouts? Can any team hold workouts with or without coaches at this time of the year?
I just needed someone to verify I what I already knew. It seems one of the parochial schools in Bergen County is walking a thin line of being fair to the rules. I was driving passed one of the schools and clearly saw players running around with a person who I know is a coach directing them. I know there will be some people here ready to defend them, but I know what I saw this afternoon. Too bad the NJSIAA doesn't hold itself accountable when enforcing the rules. Clearly this school could easily say the coach doubles as the S&C coach and hide behind it knowing that coach is doing more than S&C with the kids on the field.Without coaches kids can do whatever they want.
With coaches is a slightly iffy area. Usually the football coaches are also S and C coaches in the school which allows them to run the weight room.
The coaches can be in no practice where a football is being used until the day after spring sports end.
Example. I can have kids lift but I can not tell QBs to go throw.
I know BC field, but it's not them. Are they breaking the rules too? I wouldn't mind them falling on hard times.Parachoial school where you can drive by and see the field is...Bergen Catholic. Am I right??
Private schools do not have the same restrictions that public schools has. They use NJSIAA officials that is their only connections. Private schools step up their own guidelines.
