Rutgers hoops just picked up the commitment of Paul Mulcahy.

Wanted to share a quote of his from his commitment decision.

"When you’re a kid from Detroit, you dream of playing at Michigan. When you’re a kid from Dallas playing football, you dream of playing at Texas. I don’t see the problem in a kid from Bayonne dreaming to play at Rutgers."

I think we are all going to like this kid.

But I fail to see what they can offer a basketball recruit that would lure him away from a commitment to Rutgers.

Not much of one, but they have made the tournament three times since we last did, four if you count the year we last did, and were clearly one of the last ones out last year. So what does that make what we have?

I don't think there will be a trend of kids from Bayonne dreaming of playing for Rutgers -- or a lot of D-I recruits coming out of Bayonne, for that matter -- but it's nice to hear.

If we had only held on to Dahntay Jones (I went to high school with him), believe he was Big East freshman of the year for Rutgers before transferring to Duke and then getting drafted into the nba...he was very good friends with JayWill which is why he transferred there

They aren’t very good but they just won the NIT and seems like they might have their point guard drafted this year...was hoping Corey sanders would have improved to get drafted and show these NJ kids they could stay home and still make it to the League...

Great high school runner named Ernie Beler years back. Went to Nebraska. Don't recall if he ever actually saw the field for the Cornhuskers.
