RIP
"Can we get some fresh cream?"
...
"What's wrong with it? It's cottage cheese."
Best line of the movie.

I always wondered about him biting the hand. Do/did people do that in fights? Never saw that before or after. There were parts of that fight that looked fake.
If Carlo did that to my Sister I’d do the same as Sonny. My Brother might have to pull me off so he could get his licks too.

Definitely makes the list of all-time most menacing actors..

James Caan
Robert Deniro
Ray Liotta

Who else we got?

Robert Ryan
R. Lee Ermy
Bruce Dern
Brian Cox and Anthony Hopkins both played "Hannibal Lector" pretty well.

Theres a few guys who if they played more such roles would make the list.. I suppose Clint Eastwood.. who generally played more hero-types... intimidating hero-types.

But James Caan even did the lead in a Neil Simon Movie.. "Chapter two".. he was versatile. Also played Will Ferrel's dad in "Elf".

Javier Bardem from "No Country For Old Men"
Dude played a psychopath pefectly

Here’s his first acting job. Playing a German Sergeant in Combat, the 60’s WWII series.

Have you ever seen in a fight another guy hold a guys hand down and bite his hand?
When he’s holding on to stop the beating? In other movies besides this one I have.

Carlo is trying to stop Sonny from dragging him out into the street. Something I’d expect from a guy who hits women. That’s why Sonny did it.

Welp, that explains it. I'm not a street-fighting man. 🤷‍♂️ I had often wondered if James Caan was ad-libbing. IMO, the best part of that fight scene (besides the Rheingold truck) is James Caan hitting him with the garbage can. But kicking him to the fire hydrant is right behind it.

Saw him playing poker at the Borgata about 15 years ago, he was playing no limit but low stakes, maybe 1-2 or 2-5, was being very friendly and chatting with the table.

RIP, so many great roles. I thought he was Italian because he played so many mobsters,

Watch the punches closely - a couple of them are nowhere near actually connecting with Carlo. Fantastic film, but these are well-known mistakes in the film. Caan was so good as Sonny - part of me always wondered how the story would've played out if Sonny hadn't been killed, opening the door for Michael - have a hard time believing they would've gotten along very well.

Really liked the "brotherly love" between Michael and Sonny. Fredo had his way of being passed over. Sonny would have been more overt.
