Forget About Me I Love YandleUh-oh -- the Rangers have broken out the FAMILY slogan on the back of their warm-up tees. Let's Go Rangers!
Totally agree, but still thought it was funny. Best playoffs in all of sports. #LGR!Big difference between "FAMILY" and "F.A.M.I.L.Y."
#LGR
And for a non-Rutgers guy like me what does FAMILY stand for? I remember the jerseys
I thought it was great if they used it internally, but publicly not the greatest slogan to bandy about.Schiano coined it. Forget About Me I Love You. Flood carried it forward. Divisive topic among our fan base. Personally, I hated it, but whatever, not a big deal. I just chucked when I saw the Rangers wearing it.
I think the family thing is stupid in sports especially in the pros when only thing guys care about is money.. That's not to say they all not all out to win but a professional locker room is far from a family.
Someday their best will be good enough to beat the best. Maybe in another 32 years, maybe not.1 cup 76 years
And McDonagh is dinged. He has an upper body. Skjei will likely take his spot although McIlrath is in the mix.The Rangers are hoping to go 1-0 tonight.
I continue to admire your dedication to posting this exact phrase, completely unprompted, in every hockey thread we have around here.1 cup 76 years
Great observation. Seems to be the only thing superflamer11 ever posts.I continue to admire your dedication to posting this exact phrase, completely unprompted, in every hockey thread we have around here.
Plus, why not 2 in 77.Great observation. Seems to be the only thing superflamer11 ever posts.
Let's Go Rangers! Though, unfortunately, I don't see it happening. Anyway, I'll pull for anyone other than the flyers and islanders.
The average fan thinks professional players are stuck on money. Yes, they want to max the amount of money they can earn, but when they are out there playing they do care about one another. That's how teamwork is possible.I think the family thing is stupid in sports especially in the pros when only thing guys care about is money.. That's not to say they all not all out to win but a professional locker room is far from a family.
Schiano didn't really speak on it as much as the media reported the slogan. The media has this idea everything is newsworthy. Flood might have pushed it more with the media, but not Schiano. Ash has his own theme with "The Hunt" and no sooner it went up in the bubble and Hale Center the media mentioned it with a few stories. Every year coaches around the country use some slogans as a way to motivate the players.I thought it was great if they used it internally, but publicly not the greatest slogan to bandy about.
And the funny thing is, 1994 is the only time hockey ever mattered in NYC area. Not during the Devils 2.5 cups or the Islanders in the 1980s. 1994 was the pinnacle of the sport and that parade down Broadway was magical.I continue to admire your dedication to posting this exact phrase, completely unprompted, in every hockey thread we have around here.
Just like college football is only good when Alabama or Ohio State are good. And the funny thing is, 1994 is the only time hockey ever mattered in NYC area. Not during the Devils 2.5 cups or the Islanders in the 1980s. 1994 was the pinnacle of the sport and that parade down Broadway was magical.
I perfectly understand that RU is the NJ Devils of college sports, thankfully, I also root for the Yankees to balance things out!Just like college football is only good when Alabama or Ohio State are good.
And it sucks when Butler makes back-to-back championship games in basketball...I only want to see Duke & Kentucky.
I've got a news flash for you. You are a fan of Rutgers football...as unfashionable a college football team as the NJ Devils are in the NHL. I know some like to think Rutgers is the college football equivalent of the Yankees or Rangers or Cowboys or Lakers, but we aren't. We are the Devils.

Yes, all 20,000 Devils fans had a blast, those "parades" around the parking lot were priceless. So even in the Devils' finest hour, they showed what a Mickey Mouse organization they were. Not true at all.
In my neck of the woods in NJ, the bars were just as full if not more with the Devils 3 Cups than the 1 bought Cup by the New York Oilers in '94.
My softball team was like 9 to 2 Devils to Rags fans in the spring of '95.
(Maybe because we were mostly 19-24 age range)
I remember we had a game just after Claude beat Hextall from the blue line @Philly in Game-5 of the ECF.
It is so funny to hear the "we have more people than you do" from anyone that lives in NJ, or really anyone that follows the NHL at all.
Yes, the most important thing to do in life is to like the most popular thing, and then tell everyone that such thing is the best for the sole reason that it is more popular.
Newark Devils fans are the most insecure and envious in all of sports. They win a few times but never get any respect or attention. But they suck now, so I guess that is that.Rags fanbase is the most angry and envious group in all of sports.
Only 1 Cup in the last 75 years will do that I guess.
They talk like their team has the history of the Yanks but in reality they are the Jets.
Damn right they were priceless. Instead of waiting for it and then watching it drive past me, I got to watch the entire party from beginning to end. Three times.Yes, all 20,000 Devils fans had a blast, those "parades" around the parking lot were priceless. So even in the Devils' finest hour, they showed what a Mickey Mouse organization they were.

On ice/field/court success is more important than where a celebration is held.
And the Isles swept them.On ice/field/court success is more important than where a celebration is held.
Devils were 3-1 vs manhattan this season.
And the Isles swept them.
4 cups in a row, made it to the finals 5th year in a row, but we suck because we don't have our parades down Broadway. It's all about the hardware, kids.
Yeah...once again, this isn't looking like its our year LOL. It was bad enough Halak went down with a 6-8 week injury late...then the promising rookie went down too. They just can't seem to ever put it all together.Isles could be in a tough spot with their goalie situation.
Typical statement by a Ranger fan. Whatever makes you feel better. And the funny thing is, 1994 is the only time hockey ever mattered in NYC area. Not during the Devils 2.5 cups or the Islanders in the 1980s. 1994 was the pinnacle of the sport and that parade down Broadway was magical.
