ISIS is out there cutting people's heads off. Um. The real world's got some major problems. Some major problems. And this idiot beat writer is reporting on the Syrcuse spring game? What an idiot.
- Scott Shafer

Shafer: "In-house we feel pretty good about the future, we can't wait to get on
the field against Rhode Island. Hopefully the naysayers will stay at
home and the ones that support the program will show up and see a
kick-ass Orange team come the fall."

URI was 1-11 last year. Go Rhody.

No Clock, no scoring system & no scoreboard WOW that sounds exciting!!!

They have another clown for a head coach. They should keep his mouth shut. He sounds like a grad assistant giving an interview.

3K at their spring game? Very acc'ish, though in fairness, I bet Wake Forest and BCU outdraw them. Miami might even double that.

"I don't put a lot of stock into the spring game, never have," Shafer said Tuesday. "We've really finished our work today (Tuesday) to be quite honest with you. We don't want to go into the spring game and show all the different things we've been putting in on offense and on defense. We want to keep it pretty vanilla. Just let the kids go block and run and tackle and catch passes and finish up spring on a high note."

Schafer doesn't want to show Rhode Island his offense and defense five months before the 2015 opener ? SU FB has really fallen on hard times.

Syracuse certainly getting a lot of buzz here.
Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner!

I just don't understand the infatuation by some on here to Syracuse. Why does anyone care about a school we don't play anymore, we don't compete with and really has nothing in common with Rutgers??

Brent Axe isn't the beat writer, but a columnist. Think of him as their "Politi"..so these articles aren't out of the norm for him.

Regardless, funny to read. How low has that program fallen.

What do we generally get to see our spring games?
Usually 14,000 - 18,000 on a nice Saturday afternoon in late April.
Hopefully the last Friday night in April will cooperate with nice dry weather .

Back in the 70s,there was no 'game' at RU either. The norm was offense would alternate after about a dozen plays. No score was kept. That morphed over the years. Personally, I think the players were developed better that way.

WHAT? Syracuse still plays football????
I thought they gave it up to concentrate on what they do best CHEAT at Basketball
