OT: NY Mets spring training thread

The full 67 man camp roster is up on Mets.com. Along with uniform numbers, for those who care, like me.

Brett Baty is now rocking #7, as Juan Soto exercised eminent domain over his #22. #7 had been in mothballs for five years, generating speculation that it would be retired for Reyes. Or maybe Kranepool? Those thoughts can be put aside for now.

Among the other prominent newbies (we already knew that Soto would keep 22).
  • Griffin Canning 46
  • Clay Holmes 35
  • A.J. Minter 33
  • Frankie Montas 47
  • Nick Madrigal 11 (they didn't let Iglesias' number get cold)
  • Jose Siri 19
#48 is unassigned, as it has been since deGrom left. Hmmmm.

$40 mil a year for Bregman???? That is insane
75 rbi's last year.

Hasn't had 100 in a season since 2019.

And not sure what this is about but only 44 walks last year, typically would be 80+ for the amount of games he played. OBP of .315.

And funny that he also has opt out options...Why would he opt out?

I guess if he has a big year(hitting balls off and over the monster) he will look for a longer term deal?

Supposedly he had a 6 year $171m offer from the Tigers.
