Haven't been to a hoops game in a while. What are my parking options for tomorrow's game? Coming from Bergen County via 287.

Probably the Yellow pay lot, but others will weigh in with some free options like the library. The alternate traffic flow will be in place so depending on where you are coming from, I wouldn't try entering via South Washington Avenue to Sutton's Lane. Backs up big-time there.

My first time in a long time as well. Is coming up from Cedar Lane (via River Rd) still the best way to avoid traffic?

Will Hospital from Suttons be open? If not, what is next best option from Stelton?

Does that still work?

Late last season, I still had my expired Rutgers parking pass from grad school. I parked not facing towards the street or a sidewalk (but towards bushes) behind one of the nearby dormitories. I’ve gotten away with it a half dozen times and then one night I get slapped with like a $75 dollar ticket or something like that. I was like, you gotta be kidding me. You went up to my window in the dark, checked the parking tag color was probably off and gave me a ticket. Long story short, you never know when the RU screw will strike again. Lol. Since then, just paid the $10 bucks.

Well.. I think it is easier now.. they probably patrol with license plate scanners.. we know they have a database of permits and plate numbers and expiration dates. And they make people parking for LAX games register in the system.. maybe for certain dates.. I dunno. So it could be as easy to police the lots as driving down the rows until the plate-reader says STOP and prints a ticket.

Probably not. Better to continue on South Washington and make the left at the light heading into the RAC,

You’re probably right. I buy a pass with my season tickets so I am not sure what the risks are. I just know that in the past there have been some on the board who say they never pay for parking for basketball games.

It's much harder to get away with a free option for parking on campus now for minor sport events. My friend got hit with a ticket during a wrestling match this year. They used to give just warnings. I'm not sure it's worth it when you can just pay 10 bucks and park.

They have closed a couple of times when a sellout is announced but I have not seen a notice this time

This is EXACTLY what they do.

RU Screw? LOL. You're f'in kidding?

You getting a ticket after knowingly parking illegally (and trying to conceal it with an expired parking pass and cloak of darkness) is not you getting screwed. It is you getting caught doing something you knew was wrong.

I believe that the parking policy is much looser on weekends and after 8:30, not sure they are given out any tix on weekends. I have never had an issue on weekends

The gamenotes for today’s game on sk.com DO include the “alternate traffic pattern” notice, which probably means that You won’t be able to access Hospital Road from Suttons Lane. Can only get into parking lot from Sutton’s by turning into Rockefeller Road.

So if this is the way you approach the RAC (like me), give yourself extra time, as the traffic really backs up on Sutton’s since there’s only one way, instead of two, to get into the parking lots.

It gets really backed up there very quickly.

Bumping this thread for the PSU game. Making our annual pilgrimage to a men's hoops game. Don't really want to get stuck in traffic. We can purchase a Visitor's permit for the day Wednesday and park in Lot 101, 103, or 105? We don't mind walking.
