Its crazy to have high school kids commute like that daily, but I know families that do hop in the train from Chatham to go to St. Peters daily.
Monmouth county sends upwards 20 to 25 girls to dive one schools a year

As for Linden I know that Otis Livingston and his family live in Linden. Otis Sr. and his wife still are at almost every Linden game. They are wonderful people.
Agree it isn't the best but how many kids relative to the amount playing are scholarship players-----or even scholarship candidates for that matter ?
If you're good they find you and much of the recruiting today in hoops is done on the AAU circuit anyway.
With my 2 kids one wanted Parochial and one wanted Public and it worked out fine for both . My oldest went Parochial and ended up at NW while my youngest ended up at a D-2 PA school playing soccer on a modest scholarship.
In the case of Chatham that's a top of the line school system.

Raritan HS in Hazlet did the same thing for 2 years when they had a very good player{cousin} move into a house the year they went to the Tournament of Champions and lost a close game to St. Anthony's. That kid went onto play at Houston and his cousin Boston U. One went on to play in Europe for a short time.
Very well said. Unless you're just so rich that it doesn't matter, the idea of essentially paying for school twice is just asinine.
The idea that anyone who lives in Chatham (Chatham!) and thinks the public schools aren't good enough is mind-boggling.
Exactly what I thought. He's recruiting future clients, that's all. His explanation of why his business suddenly changed their information from Professional athlete's wealth management from it's bio was the tell tale sign for me. Ranney school parents have money. He gives them a successful sports program, that he's the face of, he gets an in. Now if one of those kids becomes professionals he has an in.
