Canadian author of "Shoeless Joe" passes at 81. The terrific film "Field of Dreams" was, of course, based on his book. He honed his craft at the University of Iowa's Writers Workshop.

As good as the movie is (James Earl Jones is great in it) the book was fantastic! one of my all time favorites.
Field of Dreams one of the most personal poignant movies for me - was a teen when it came out. Probably seen that movie 100X and tear up every single time at the end bar none. RIP Mr. Kinsella - thank you for one of my favorite stories of all time - Shoeless Joe.
