A reminder to Rutgers fans in southwest Florida (Fort Myers, Naples, Marco Island, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Estero, Sanibel). Rutgers baseball plays at Florida Gulf Coast University on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 15 and 16. Games start at 6:30 PM. On campus Swanson Stadium is minutes from Interstate 75. Adults $7, cash only. Free parking. Plenty of nearby off-campus places for food & drink on the drive in from Interstate 75.

Rutgers lost 9-6. Pretty much beat themselves. Shabby defensive play. Long, high fly ball that was misplayed. Errant throw on routine grounder. Dropped foul pop-up. Others. Essentially gave FGCU 4 outs per inning the first four innings of the game. Made it brutal for Rutgers pitchers who deserved way better. FGCU's Swanson Stadium is an impressive facility. Public address announcements clear as a bell. Paved parking. Easily accessible refreshments and lavatories. Shaded stadium seating behind home plate. $7 admission. $3 hot dogs. $2 soda. A handful of promotions that rewarded winners in the stands with food concessions and t-shirts. And a classy, former Rutgers AD in attendance!
