Ohio State Updates 2025 Schedule, Replaces UConn With Grambling State
Ohio State has updated its 2025 nonconference schedule, replacing its Oct. 18 game against UConn with a Sept. 6 contest against Grambling State.
IDK about that.Sounds to me like Ohio State strengthened their schedule with this change.
That’s a really good question. Would be interested to see the two.I assume that gives them a midseason week off on October 18 that probably would be welcomed. I wonder how the payouts compare?
The MEAC and SWAC schools don’t always send the bands to away games.Very provocative headline from Mr. Shift. GSU is a more interesting opponent and probably has a better band. We should've beat OSU last year. Missed opportunity.
The MEAC and SWAC schools don’t always send the bands to away games.
Why?Ohio St would be foolish if they didn't cover the travel costs
Whatever happened with the Mickey Joseph domestic violence charges?IDK about that.
They have a new coach, Mickey Joseph, who was interim HC at Nebraska.
2022-23, they went 3-8 and 5-6.
Prior to that were 0-4 and 3-7 in 2020 and 2021.
They were pretty good 2014-17.
As a rule, a bought FCS will cost half of the price of a G5. Maybe less.I assume that gives them a midseason week off on October 18 that probably would be welcomed. I wonder how the payouts compare?
Very good question. I couldn't remember what the issue was, and you have a good memory.Whatever happened with the Mickey Joseph domestic violence charges?
Why?
Not to mention OSU’s band is sort of legendary. It would be pretty cool to have them both perform at the same game. It's a feature of HBCU football and one that I'll bet few Ohio St. fans have ever seen live.
I doubt Ohio St. fans will care. They have The Best Damn Band In The Land! (Don't believe me? Go ask them, they'll tell you.) If Grambling brought their band, OSU fans would be pissed about them cutting into THEIR band's time. It's a feature of HBCU football and one that I'll bet few Ohio St. fans have ever seen live.

To claim Ohio State “ chickened out” Is just overtly stupid.
I don’t think we do it anymore.🤷♂️Ohio St would be foolish if they didn't cover the travel costs
"claiming" they chickened out is just some fun mockery, I'd assume.![]()
Have your prunes and go to bed.
Now Lincoln Riley chickens out:"claiming" they chickened out is just some fun mockery, I'd assume.

UConn is only G5 in name only. They honestly should just move down to FCS at this point. As a rule, a bought FCS will cost half of the price of a G5. Maybe less.
They can be our Week 2 tune up next year.We still need at least one home game in 2025 -- do you think we schedule UConn?
I don’t think we will.We still need at least one home game in 2025 -- do you think we schedule UConn?
And only as a bought game.I don’t think we will.
But UConn didn’t do what BC,Cuse and Pitt did. I would be ok with it.
I think the B10 considers UConn a power confernece game for OOC scheduling purposes. And only as a bought game
Fine.I think the B10 considers UConn a power conference game for OOC scheduling purposes.
Very…like insanely so. Considering they are a perennial title contender and their worst year in the last 20 would mean a parade and day off at Rutgers, it is beyond silly….To claim Ohio State “ chickened out” Is just overtly stupid.
I think the OP is kidding.Very…like insanely so. Considering they are a perennial title contender and their worst year in the last 20 would mean a parade and day off at Rutgers, it is beyond silly….
Some people are dense or intentionally obtuse. Old Bobby doesn't like me. He claims to have me on ignore, but he likes to take jabs from a distance. He's like a gnat that won't go away.I think the OP is kidding.
yes the proper term should be "Ducked out" of playing a Mora led UConnTo claim Ohio State “ chickened out” Is just overtly stupid.
agree. UConn would be a better game than the Wagner cupcake type and would be a better win .And only as a bought game.
Which will not happen. At least it would shock me if it did.agree. UConn would be a better game than the Wagner cupcake type and would be a better win .
But any /every UConn game must be held at Rutgers stadium, nowhere else
Then we move on to someone else. UMass/UCan’t what’s really the difference at this point.Which will not happen. At least it would shock me if it did.
UConn has been routinely getting home-and-homes with P4's comparable to us. They'll sell roadies to the blue bloods who will pay top dollar, but not to us.
Exactly. Temple is the only G5 team I'd be okay with giving a road game to, when it more or less is RU Stadium South every time we go to the Linc. But yes, it would be a 2/1, 3/1 type of deal. Then we move on to someone else. UMass/UCan’t what’s really the difference at this point.
To be honest the only similar one I’m okay with doing this is Temple and that is only because of proximity and it’s basically a home game for us. But would really rather that be uneven as well (2/1, 3/2, etc.).
Which according to those in the know say the Owls won’t do…even Steven or no deal.Exactly. Temple is the only G5 team I'd be okay with giving a road game to, when it more or less is RU Stadium South every time we go to the Linc. But yes, it would be a 2/1, 3/1 type of deal.
