OT: So what are the best ways to clean your phone

Apple recently updated their page on cleaning iphones.

Is it OK to use a disinfectant on my iPhone?
Using a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, you may gently wipe the exterior surfaces of your iPhone. Don't use bleach. Avoid getting moisture in any openings, and don't submerge your iPhone in any cleaning agents.

Seems relevant these days even for this board
I use rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or hand sanitizer.. I have done this for years on both mine and my daughters and never an issue. They sell some UV machine but my method is fine. I've also used spray cleaner I use for counters(no bleach) on a papertowel. Preferred method is alcohol. I wipe it down multiple times a day. Clorox wipes leave a residue you have to dry it after. This is thing I saw advertised. https://www.magellans.com/itemdy00....cC7hTy7daCdVq9-EQqE1X1jox0MhkXzAaAnuaEALw_wcB I cant carry that around like I can alcohol wipes lol... clean all surfaces... I have a Galaxy and often forget the volume buttons.

Thank you..i dont have rubbing alcohol but do have some lysol spray so maybe squirting that on a paper towel and dabbing everywhere thoroughly might work

Do ya the magic eraser would work:eek:

I've been using the tearable square alcohol swabs, then I go over every surface including screen. Hasn't hurt anything. Been doing it for a week+. Easy to keep in your pocket

No, hahaha no magic eraser and yes, Lysol is okay too. I do that as well. #OCD I've used Glass Plus but that won't kill the germies.

Do you have it encased?

Take that off and clean that.

I’ve always used alcohol and wipes. I wipe the screen down after with a tissue because of streaks but I leave the back and sides of the case to dry on their own.

I’ve read these chemicals wears away some coating on the screen that prevents smudges or scratches. I’ve never had scratches on a screen in all these years and smudges I don’t care about as I can just wipe those away. Being somewhat of a germphobe I care more about getting rid of the germs.

That would work just as good as anything else. I don’t even dab with wipes or alcohol just wipe as normal and dry the screen and leave the back and sides of the case to dry on their own.

Edit: when wiping down anything like counters or door knobs etc, except for maybe things like the phone screen, just let it air dry don’t wipe it dry it kills the germs/bacteria more thoroughly.
