Really interested in seeing how Hurley handles this given that his brother almost died as a result of driving while impaired

He has already "handled" it.

The kid ran away and hid from the cops when the cop smelled alcohol. I'm sure there was a "conversation" with the girl who he stole the car from. She changed her story very quickly

They slapped him on the wrist with a couple game suspension.

For all the bluster about how strict a coach Hurley is he fell right in line with uconn hoops tradition of looking the other way.

What a fraud

There was a very embarrassing event yrs ago that lead to the firing of an ru coach. If not for an internet poster called the maven, the event would gave stayed unknown, as the local nj media knew and did not report it.

FWIW

That may have been true years ago but not anymore. Any sniff of an issue at RU and the press circle like sharks in a feeding frenzy.

If Coach Pike buys his cat food at Costco, instead of low fat low salt gluten free free range hand made custom platinum cat food, the Star-Liar will write a week long expose and drag in the peta people to try to label him an animal abuser and get him fired.

We are still waiting for the anti-Rutgers media to do a story about why Eric Murdock is not in jail for blackmail. Not to mention, apologies from them regarding abuse lies concerning lacrosse, swimming, and football coaches.

Many fans posting on this topic have no idea how much every program , including Rutgers, tries to sweep things under the rug.
Sometimes the sweeping is so thorough ... that it leads to people not knowing about it !

But this wasn't swept under the rug.

This is out in the open.

An underage, unlicensed basketball player got drunk, stole a car, crashed into a pole, and then ran away from the police.

And then it was widely reported by the media.

If that had happened at RU, the outcry from the SL and others would have ended that kids career at RU. At uconn it's a slap on the wrist

Wasn’t it a drunk driver that hit him?
You might be right. Either way an impaired driver factored into that accident so you'd think that would have an impact on how he'd discipline one of his players who was allegedly driving impaired.
