KODI is most definitely not illegal. It is an open source media player. Since it's open source, criminals can load their fire sticks with KODI, install add-ons which have illegal content.

I linked KODI's response to the use of their product for illegal streaming.

I use KODI to organize my digital music library. I ripped all my cd's into flac.

Thank you for the websites and the search. In truth I don't know a lot about KODI, but I have heard several friends of mine talk about it and I think the application of using it to get free stuff is ridiculous and flat out criminal. Whether KODI alone is legal or not that seems to be a gray area from what I've read.

I feel like it was a lot easier to access movies LEGALLY when the Blockbusters were around and before this streaming business. Wanted to rent When We Were KIngs after Ali died and couldn't find it anywhere. And to the KODI people who have somehow justified to themselves that it is ok and that the current system has made every movie and Tv show available to you virtually for free - Shame on You!

Agree. Also, cheaper. As usual, technology far outpaces legal bullshit.

My son is 8 and getting into watching football but not just the local NFL teams. Someone mentioned that KODI is a better way to view all games in their entirety than changing my service to Direct TV or buying NFL ticket which just shows highlights. Is this true? Is KODI the way to go and what do I need? I have amazon prime already so do i need a firestick? Explain it to me like im in 5th grade cause this tech stuff is a mystery to me. Thanks

Do you have a PS3 or PS4? If so, then you can download & purchase the NFL Sunday Ticket app, which is the same package of out of market games that's available on DirecTV, but you get to keep your current video provider. I think all you have to do is check off a box that you can't get DirecTV.
