OT: The Walking Dead, Question of the night

Hilltopper to Rick: "Those Saviors are scary, but that prick's got nothing on you."

Human deaths were greater than zombie deaths, also zombies do not realy seem to be a threat any more. They stroll up, wait be stabbed in the chin. Losing some of the zombe appeal.....almost felt like I was watching "Revolution" last night. Was hoping for a sighting of Miles Matheson or Monroe in the battle...

Looks like Maggie and Carol might be in a heap of trouble.......

It is a nice change of pace to have the fighting between the living, we have had a lot of mass zombie attacks over the last 10 shows or so..... They can finish this story line and go right back to it.

Nah. Next week looks like it will be a whole women's power episode. Carol doesn't want Maggie to kill because she wants her to be the mom that she can't be anymore. She wants to spare Maggie from becoming what she is, a stone cold killer. So they'll have these Savior chicks holding them hostage and in the end Maggie and Carol will kill them. Well, either Carol will and say "You can't be like me" or Maggie will and "This is the way the world is. What you want me to be isn't realistic anymore." Or they will kill them together and there will be a mutual trust moment to let each other be what they want, yada, yada. Then they'll reunite with the group at the end and THINK that they just finished off the Saviors.

I wonder how many Saviors there are? And why didn't Rick and the group finish them off while they were inside?

What would be off the charts is if either Maggie or Carol become Lucille's victim ....... in the season finale.

I think when they left the building they thought they had killed everybody

[**Minor Spoiler from the Comics**]

In the comics, there were roughly 70 Saviors. The Saviors would send out roaming groups of members to look for other survivor colonies, much like the group that Daryl, Abraham, and Sasha ran into. So, a good number of Saviors may not have been there at the time of the raid. Between the ones that Daryl's group took out and those killed at the raid on the compound, my guess is that half have been killed. Of course, the TV show doesn't always track the comics exactly. But, based on the size of the compound, it might be a fair guess, as the rooms were single or double occupancy and some rooms were empty. It didn't appear that the compound was overflowing.

As good a reason as any why the attack on the compound was a serious tactical error. "What do you think of Rick's plan?" Rick's plan was stupid.

If you want to hit the Saviors the best thing to do is recon their compound, get a sense of the various comings and goings, then set up patrols on the perimeter roads some distance outside the compound and pick them off when they're coming and going. Reduce their numbers on your terms, on your ground - not on theirs.

Looks like they pretty much wiped out the compound, and obtained a lot more guns/ammo though.... Not a horrible plan....

Last I saw they were covered by a force of unknown strength which holds two confirmed hostages. Remind me to not invite you to be on my post-apocalypse team.

Rick is bad man .... but have never been the brightest bulb on the christmas tree. Just look at that plan with the zombies at the quarry. That was colossal stupid.

If you can scout the Saviors' movements and pop them at seemingly random times, it will inspire some amount of terror. The entire situation could have easily been used to some advantage - especially since there was no real urgency to act.

People who kept asking where Negan and are fans of major characters on the show will regret asking that question every week.

Two major characters will most likely not make it to next season. However the show keeps everyone guessing as to which two will die.

They don't follow the comic 100% so it may not be the same two.

I agree. You always do recon. There were way too many unknowns, making that raid a major risk. I guess hunger was a big factor, but still...

I thought Alexandria was a little more self-sufficient than that.

they did some level of recon the day of the surprise attack
I wonder if they felt they had to strike because of the deal they struck for food/supplies and Rick's argument that they would have found them anyway...
I think one can fault Rick for not having enough people outside...
BTW, Morgan has become the 1 annoying character on the show this season (previous winners included Rick's son)
Can't believe Abe dumped the 1 decent-looking woman in Alexandria (Maggie doesn't do it for me)

Sloppy plan. Bad plan. Ultimately it will be a costly plan.

It leaves me wondering if Abe's lack of inclusion in the mission planning is mere oversight on the part of the writers or if they're trying to tell us something about the flaws in Rick's character.

They didn't do recon, they were looking for a zombie head to take to the Saviors.

How in the F did we manage not to lose people in the last few episodes? More action than the past few seasons combined and everybody is still alive. Of course we likely say goodbye to Glen and whoever else soon, but in the past we'd lose people even in anticlimactic ways.

Rick was dark last night. His speech reminded me of the Gov. speech before the hit the prison the second time except the Gov. said that no one had to get hurt and Rick said that they were going to kill them all. My daughter and I have a theory that Carol is in real trouble and Glenn will trade his life for Maggie's. I have not read the comic so we are speculating. I also think this episode to a very dark turn with their relationship with other people. Neither of us think that this is the Saviors main camp, as it appears that the group does. I do not know which one but, one of them was wonder which one was Negan.

Rick's time is almost up. He is too shell shocked. He's turned, "and can't come back."

I understand why he did what he did. But he's lost it.

Over time barbarians are eradicated by medieval Emipire's and the medieval times are left by the enlightenment for the modern era.

The zombies are slowing and dieing off. Mid-evil times are ahead and Rick will be eradicated.

***IMO***

My guess is that Negan will be over a series of camps like Hilltop and Alexandria. Rick is a commandant of Alexandria, but Negan is an emperor. The hubris of "Well, we'll just go take em out" has to cost something. Maybe Carol? She did have that note of having killed 18 humans which seemed to affect her deeply.

While the episode was on I thought they were going to pull the "Negan is a woman" thing. But on talking dead the host said the actor playing him is a man.

The guy who was downed outside by the priest said, "You are all dead, Blood is coming". Maybe "Blood" is the redhead woman who got Maggie and Carol?

Agree. Zombies can't do full auto.

Agree. Zombies can't do full auto.

In a world where nobody is minding the ammo factories, NOBODY should be doing full auto.

I mean, nobody should ever do it anyway, but especially in that circumstance.

Carol was way to happy giving out the cookies, she will bite the big one...how dare she try to put some normalcy into everyones lives.

The writers apparently now loathe killing off any of the primary cast members. It's straining the show's credibility.

On "Talking Dead" they mentioned that "Ricshonne".. the getting together of Rick and Michonne.. did not happen in the comic.. and that it was a nod to the TV audience who wanted it so badly. Similarly Carol is alive on TV because they love the actress... not something a pen and ink drawing can count on. Makes me wonder if they killed off Porch Dick's wife and kids so quickly this season just to satisfy the audience with "Ricshonne"... ugh.. not a fan of such accommodations.

Game of Thrones is still the only show out there playing for keeps.

I would think in the real world, if humanity is to survive, some of the originals would make it from start to finish.

So who does Abraham think is a better catch than Rosalita?
