OT: The Walking Dead, Question of the night

The padre is actually doing more than Morgan right now though......

On "Talking Dead" they mentioned that "Ricshonne".. the getting together of Rick and Michonne.. did not happen in the comic.. and that it was a nod to the TV audience who wanted it so badly. Similarly Carol is alive on TV because they love the actress... not something a pen and ink drawing can count on. Makes me wonder if they killed off Porch Dick's wife and kids so quickly this season just to satisfy the audience with "Ricshonne"... ugh.. not a fan of such accommodations.

Game of Thrones is still the only show out there playing for keeps.

Games of Thrones I think lost a lot of fans (me included) when they went on a killing spree of main characters. At some point, it doesn't work anymore because the new characters doesn't provide the same appeal as the ones that were killed off.

It's a slippery slope which I am sure Kirkman and his team are balancing.

One thing that I feel has been lost in the Walking Dead is the concept of "hope". In any apocalyptic or human survival story, the idea of "salvation in the end" is part of what captivates an audience. "Will they make it in the end" so to speak. The story about the CDC in season one I think is what drew a lot of fans. But now it seems they are simply living their lives in a new world with new rules and the former world lost forever. It's mad max with zombies and I find that extremely boring. I still watch but I am not sure for how much longer. Part of it I am sure is just forced habit now. Maybe I'm just waiting to watch Glenn get killed off. But unless they improve the story line, personally, just waiting for a character to die isn't going to keep me interested any longer.

It seems everybody was fascinated by Morgan when the show first began and eagerly waited for his return.... To me he is not nearly as interesting anymore.

Yeah - hitting people with sticks just doesn't do it.....
