Who?Said by most everyone today.
The right handed pitcher was signed by the Phillies by the then near staggering sum of $40,000 in 1953 and subsequently being named Money Bags.
He had to remain with the team for 2 years before being allowed to be sent down.
The Phillies gave up on him in 1958,trading him to the White Sox where he mostly finished one sided games.
He appeared on 4 different years of Topps' cards despite never getting a decision in the bigs, the all time record.
He had most of his problems with the strike zone walking almost 5 batters per 9 innings.
He had 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, indicating that his offspring likely was more successful hitting that strike zone.

Looked him up after reading this: here’s a funny stat that says a lot about how his managers used him situationally: of the 34 games he appeared in, his team lost 32 of them.

This reminds me that this was back in the day when you could actually read someone's name when they signed an autograph. So many athletes today scribble some lines and call it an autograph.
