Where I go for knee therapy, the owner's son lives in Chatham, NJ, 2 houses away from Ryan Fitzpatrick. They have kids the same age and play and go to school together. For Christmas, one of her grand kids got a drone, and it got stuck high in a tree. They keep throwing stuff at it, and couldn't knock it down,so here comes Ryan, seeing the situation. Carrying his own football, his first throw knocks the drone out of the tree. I'm sure many Jets fans would say that was his finest throw of the year, lol. The Mickey Rivers story I heard this morning on the Boomer and Carton show. Mickey before a game in uniform goes up to George Steinbrenner's office to ask for a $10,000 bonus for playing so well. George agrees with him and says it will be in his next check, and Mickey says,no I need it in cash, right now. George goes to his safe, pulls out $10,000, wrapped and gives it to him, and Mickey puts it in his back uniform pocket. He doesn't trust the locker room's security so he plays the game with the cash in his back pocket. At one point he gets the steal sign, swipes 2nd base , and the throw goes into center field. The 3rd base coach is waving Mickey to come across to 3rd, but stops to pick up some of the $100 bills that fell out of his pocket, lol. Willie Randolph confirmed this story to be true, and it was well know that Mickey loved to play the ponies!!!!

Mick the Quick was an inveterate horse player. Needed to hide the money from his wife !

A little embellished to say the least.
But make no mistake, Mickey was not playing without the cash.
In reality it was not an ultimatum, George had promised. "Quicky" the money, he was only holding the boss to his promise.
Quick was an awesome teammate, loved by his fellow players.
To this day he is one of our museum and learning centers biggest supporters and goes out of his way whenever we ask for his help.
FYI... Quick had and still has an admitted addiction to the ponies.

Rivers is still one of my all time favorite players. I loved the bat twirl when he swung and missed, and the way he would walk back to first after beating out an infield single, he walked like his feet hurt.

Good stories . The rivers one is classic .

Zap - you mentioned the museum. Did they ever find out who did that heist a few years ago? They need to pay the price!
