It set the tone for the entire athletics department. Her hiring signaled that the priority of Rutgers Athletics was not winning games.
I cannot believe that a team that literally did not play an entire season 2 years ago and nearly had their program fold would smoke us in a head to head matchup.
UCONN will be bowling and RU will not … even BC pulled a Top 25 win … now keep in mind most of the ranked teams we lose to are blue bloods like OSU/PSU/MICH/WISC .., feels like the old Big East days when we pencilled in automatic losses to WVU/Miami/VT/Syracuse … with PSU thrown in.

It's the fap of the week. Some nut was fapping to Mike Houston at ECU, even saying they looked great in their loss to Cincinnati. Have said it before that a segment of our fanbase seems to enjoy reveling in misery, pumping up other teams and they get exactly what they deserve.
No one is pimping anything . The fact is our program is pathetic until proven otherwise.
Three years ago I really believed Greg would turn this around and stop the stinking . This morning I am hoping Greg will turn this around

Can you explain the asymmetry in the same Rutgers fans who denigrate our win against BC but will celebrate UConn's win over BC? Isn't that strange?
And we have a loyal segment of people who seem to love to wallow in misery and pump up other programs over RU. I made my comments about yesterday being unacceptable in many ways. The players did not stink yesterday. The coaching did. You did not put a timeline on stopping the stinking. Many thought this would be a 4-8 year, and it appears that is what it will be. Is that stinking?
Back to Liberty- their ranking seemed unjustified. They lost to Wake Forest. They had not beaten a team that currently has a winning record. They struggled with Gardner-Webb (had to look that up, had no idea they played football) and allowed UMass to score 24 points. Beating a current 5-5 Arkansas was Liberty's signature win, and then beating BYU.
Our fans are amazed that we might be worse then uconn, a school that basically said we are sacrificing this program to the basketball Gods.

Smacked around? By whom? Michigan and Ohio State? They pretty much smack around everyone they play. The Minnesota game was not acceptable. But Rutgers was not smacked around by Nebraska, Iowa or Indiana.
Maryland got embarrassed by Penn State yesterday and a mediocre Wisconsin team the weak before. That is what happens to the mid to low level teams in one of the two top conferences in football. While Maryland played Michigan tougher than Rutgers played Michigan, it is not a secret that Maryland has more talent than Rutgers. But Locksley is in year 4, while Greg is in year 3. And their QB is an extremely talented junior, playing in his 4th year and had over 600 passing attempts going into this season. In his first 3 years, Locksley was 6-17 in conference, while Schiano may wind up 6-21 if Rutgers loses the last 2 games. Same number of wins. Maybe next year will be the year Rutgers turns the corner.

No . I am suggesting we stay in the BIG and win. Personally, I don’t believe big time professional sports should have a spot at our universities . Too much money and corruption taking away from what universities should be. But that ship has long sailed and if we are gonna play this game , you better win. Otherwise it’s just embarrassing the school.
It’s embarrassing for the school football program, nothing else. Think kids are picking Bama over Vandy for college because of football? It’s sports and just one of many at the school.
No, "it" is not embarrassing the school. However, some of our fans are embarrassing the school with their over the top overreactions. Rutgers accepted the invite to the B1G. Rutgers is competing in many sports. Football took a dive for the reasons that have been discussed ad nauseam. As noted above, year 4 should be better.
We know the reasons why RU has not competed well in football this year. RU is thin at the QB position. That is on Greg for not getting another QB from the portal, but Gavin is developing nicely, even after missing most of the season. Maryland's QB, in his first year of action had games against Indiana and Northwestern where he threw for 0 TDs and 3 INTs. He also had good games in which Maryland beat a mediocre Penn State. It's called development.
When I turn on the local news, I see the football lowlights on the sports segment. Not kids sitting in a history lecture .
When i see people socially and professionally they might give some friendly digs about rutgers football . No one mentions our expository writing classes or wants to talk about the curriculum

That’s the goal. But we don’t have the money to do it quickly. GS is tied for the lowest paid HC in the B1G. We don’t have the NIL to buy players. I think/hope we’ll be respectable soon. But mostly playing for 3rd or 4th place in the B1G East. Will be great to get rid of the divisions
