Judge Margaret Taylor said she was ashamed to be an alumnus of the school and questioned whether Strong had control of his players.

Jackson is the second South Florida player to be charged with violent crimes in the past two months. In late March, defensive back Hassan Childs was charged with aggravated assault and marijuana possession in an incident in which he was shot three times. Strong later dismissed Childs from the team.

To be fair, Flood just got here before all the arrests and most of the players were not his. Oh, wait a minute. :grimace:

Difference was Flood was here as an assistant and then head coach for several years before the arrests. Charlie Strong has been at South Florida for 5 minutes.

The players' actions are not on Strong. Aside from the fact he didn't recruit them, he's been there five months. You think spring practice completely changes people?

The judge is totally out of line. I would LOVE nothing more than a judge in a similar situation -- and plenty have had the chance -- to call out an entrenched coach, a winning coach, an institution-like coach, for the conduct of his players. But first, the player has not yet been found guilty, and second -- again -- NOT his players.

Right message. Wrong target.

The one problem Strong did not have at Texas was discipline. And oh yeah, recruiting -- he left the cupboard in pretty good shape.

Yes, the judge's comments are unprofessional for a number of reasons.

I wish there were more judges like her. Most likely Waco and State College wouldn't be a cease pool with women and young boys getting hurt.
