1st and 2nd round should be at home of higher seedIt would be nice if the 2nd round was at home too. Going up to Boise or ASU or wherever might not be a walk in the park. Don't expect that though because they want the bowls involved.

Think Warde wanted to stick it to the SEC.Love the SEC fanboys crying about Alabama not making g it in
agreeWatching ESPN guys like Saban whining... it is the SEC's fault.. this format. And everyone wanted that 5-slot and the SEC got it.
The SEC said NO to an 8 or 16-team playoff with no byes. They wanted byes for their champion.. an easier path to the title game.
So the other conferences said, okay, 12 teams with top 4 conference champions getting a bye.
The SEC made this abomination... and now they whine about it.
Turn this into a 16-team playoff with no byes and everyone being discussed would be in there and have a shot.
And the conference title games would have meaning within the conference but not in the overall CFP picture.
And the other bowls could have chosen their teams by now.
All the benefits of a no-byes 16-team playoff were turned down by the SEC to give their champion an easier path to the title game. They and their business partners at ESPN need to stop whining about it.
It would help balance out some of the easier path for 5 seed issues by sending them on the road. Not a perfect solution but better than nothing and still keeps conf champ stakes for the bye.1st and 2nd round should be at home of higher seed
This whole thing is a sham. Oregon gets screwed with a more difficult route as #1. Bottom half of the bracket is a joke. Can make an argument that 4 of those teams shouldn’t be included at all.
SEC isn't happy unless they get half the playoff spots. Openly arguing they're just better than everyone else. Arrogant douchebags can't back it up in the overall postseason record though. Most years, the SEC has a losing record in the bowl season
When you have 2 teams getting automatic byes because they’re the tallest midget belies the problem. then you have ND getting an additional slot it’s absolutely ridiculous.Just look at the CFP Committee ranking. They make the argument for you.
Warde Manual just said it "we are askex to rank the top 25 teams. That's it."
Then the dumb seeding rules take over.
Sorry - but if Rutgers had three loses - no matter how tough the schedule is - RU would never be ranked 12.SEC "whining" about the 11th best team being left out of a 12 team tournament is really legitimate.
If that was Rutgers getting left out, everyone would be losing it.
Those numbers are bullshit. By what measure is Alabama the 11th best team in the country? They played 3 cupcakes and a bad Wisconsin OOC. Why is 9 win Ole Miss ranked 7 spots higher than 9 win Illinois? It's all bullshit pushed by ESPN who has a vested financial interest in selling the SEC.SEC "whining" about the 11th best team being left out of a 12 team tournament is really legitimate.

I disagree, the Committee told them the 4th best Big Ten team is better than their 4th best team. The press told them they're better by ranking 8 or 9 or whatever the number was of their teams before any games were ever played. Happens every year with the SEC and Notre Dame.Who told them they are better than everyone else??
Oh...the CFP Committee did.

That said, #11 Alabama is out because #16 Clemson and #15 Arizona State won their conference championships and Bama got pushed down two spots. Next time don't get blown out by a 6 win team.

AP poll has everything to do with it. If OSU is ranked #1 preseason by the AP, then plays three cupcakes and Purdue, for example, they start at #1 in the first CFP ranking. That's what happens every season, except of course the preseason AP poll is stuffed with SEC teams every year.Stick to the final CFP Rankings. That's all that matters.
Upset that the 11th best team missed a 12 team playoff is understandable.
AP poll or anything else has literally zero relevance.
Yes but it took 40 years.
So you are suggesting that a team who needs to win two games to get to the semis, has an easier path than a team who only needs to win one game to get to the semis?
Ped St with the easiest path to the semis 🤮
Or #3, the rankings are stupid.By what measure?
By the CFP Committees measure.
Isn't that the only measure that matters?
According to the CFP Committee, Alabama is still better than Clemson and ASU.
There are two arguments for Alabama being out:
- The rules are stupid
- I don't like Alabama and they have won a lot. I don't care how good they are or if they are better than other teams.
If the rankings are crap then what should they be?
Or #3, the rankings are stupid.
Penn state will have easier second round game than OregonSo you are suggesting that a team who needs to win two games to get to the semis, has an easier path than a team who only needs to win one game to get to the semis?
I don't follow the math here.
Playing the #9 team for the first time with a potential Heisman winner versus playing the #6 team who is from your conference and whom you've already beaten, if seeds hold?Penn state will have easier second round game than Oregon
It's about the bracket, they do seem to have the easiest quarterfinal match-up. So, yes that's what I'm suggesting. So you are suggesting that a team who needs to win two games to get to the semis, has an easier path than a team who only needs to win one game to get to the semis?

IF PENN STATE IS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET THERE.Penn state will have easier second round game than Oregon
Not true, as @czxqa pointed out the polls do influence the CFP rankings. So many SEC teams get overrated early in the year. Then when ranked #X beats ranked #Y it's recorded as a ranked win. Ranked #Y only drops a few spots where most would tumble and then Ranked #Z beats ranked #Y and gets credited with a ranked win. It happens every year.Stick to the final CFP Rankings. That's all that matters.

Still rather have to play one game rather than two. It's about the bracket, they do seem to have the easiest quarterfinal match-up. So, yes that's what I'm suggesting.
Ohio state nearly beat Oregon at Oregon. Now they have to play them on a neutral field. Anyone would rather play BoisePlaying the #9 team for the first time with a potential Heisman winner versus playing the #6 team who is from your conference and whom you've already beaten, if seeds hold?

I hope you're right re: State Penn.Still rather have to play one game rather than two.
Never underestimate PSU/Franklin's ability to lose a big game. LOL!IF PENN STATE IS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET THERE.
And yes, I am shouting.
