OT: Why is the B-ball Forum More Civil To Posters Than F-ball?

Love the new features on this version of ScarletNation....this way I only need to see/read what I want.

I think it is because most admit RU MBB is bad and has been for a long time.
Positive posters are a minority here and though thinking positive is nice, hard to do now.:(

People recognize that hoops fans have suffered long, and hard. No need to pig pile.

Lots of Rutgers hoops fans accept the losing .

How exactly is it that we accept losing? What does this mean?

1. We don't care and we are not disgusted and frustrated by the current state of the program? Wrong

2. We don't make our views known to the AD? Wrong

3. We don't control our donation dollars? Wrong

4. We go to games to support the players knowing we might lose? Wrong

No fan is accepting what is going on now. Besides communicating our views, deciding to support or not support the program, there really isn't much we can do right now.

But back to the OP, this board has seen plenty of vitriol and personal attacks on fellow posters and players and coaches.

Constant losing means less traffic, and subdued responses. I would like to think posters have matured, but I know this isn't the case.

I think many long term fans have become apathetic. Some of the uncivilized posts on FB are from passionate fans that wrongly express thoughts in a poor choice of attacking words. The FB fanbase is passionate and have different ideas on how to build on success. I think many fans on bball have already chalked the season up to a beatdown with a dim light at then end of this year's tunnel. Maybe it's one of the 7 stages of dealing with a loss and we are past denial & anger phases and have hit acceptance...
