OT: WSJ reports Jersey Mike's worth $8 billion, owner looking to sell

Cutting the cold cuts in front of you and the red wine vinegar they use makes a huge difference. Add in they cut the roll all the way through which many do not around here. The little things makes a difference.

There were a number of local shops in Bergen that did that and were less expensive. But over the last 20 years a lot of the owners retired and the next generation didn't hold up the tradition or shut down.
 
I cannot be positive, but I seem to recall discussions about a sub shop during class. It was in 1974/75 so I would not bet my life on my recall being 100% accurate.
Hs dad was not a full time teacher, i heard he was sub though. Ba dum ddum
