Passionate about Grant getting 3rd team by B1G coaches

Little disappointed ... no idea what is up with Peppers ... Was the MD guy a Sr?

Likely was a solid 1st team choice, he and Grant were both very good. Peppers on the 2nd team over Grant is a joke.

Maybe coaches figure a returner on a doormat will get a lot more return chances so they don't just go by stats when making comparisons. A guy could just be "a complier" as Francesca likes to say. In any case, it seems like Peppers has some of the Kardashian thing going on where celebrity outstrips resume.

Surprising that the coaches voted that way. Especially considering that they schemed all week worrying about how to kick away from Grant when they played us.

A complier doesn't take 3 KO's and 1 punt to the house.

It was Likely, Grant and then all the rest with respect to returns this year. With only 2 coaches in the west having to deal with RU so far, I think there might be a lack of acceptance/prejudice on the part of some of those coaches.

That's a joke. Dude has 4 returns for TDs this year and multiple big returns that weren't house calls. He'll get the last laugh with an NFL paycheck.

Guess we needed to push the Grant-O-Meter thing.... Last year Carroo, this year Grant.
This league is sure seems good at taking care of the big boys.

Grant had more TDs than Likely & should've been 1st team & won the returner award. The fact that he was 3rd team by anyone is beyond a joke. These B1G coaches all kicked away from him.

Lilely was a ranked returner for punts and KOs. Grant isn't even listen on page of ranked punt returners @ cfb stats. Likely was 3rd with 2 TDs and 418 yds for 18.2 average. Grant had 167 yds. Grant beats Likley for KOs (not by much) but Grant was still only 35th nationally (he had the most returns at 40). Solomon Vault of Northwestern had 2 TDs (with half the returns of Grant) and a higher average return (ranked 20th to Grants 35th). I'm not saying Grant wasn't a great returner and more deserving than Peppers. Having 3-4 TDs on returns isn't that unique among top teams. There are a bunch of other guys with same TDs in half the returns

I can argue he should've been first or second team, but it's not a robbery either based on his actual statistical output.

Grant only had 12 PR's this year which does not qualify for leaders list. His 13.92 avg would have placed him 9th in the nation.

I could easily see why he did not make it. His kick off return average was 4th in the league and his punt return average was 10th. Sure he a homerun threat but did not regularly get yardage.

Where do you see Grant was 10th in PR avg? He did not have enough returns to qualify. He had a 13.92 average. I find it hard to believe he would be 10th if you include non-qualifiers.

All-B1G D and ST's had a total of, if my count is correct, 91 guys. That should come out 6.5 honorees per team. We landed....wait for it....exactly 2 kids (Grant, 3rd, and Longa, honorable mention) on this year's team. Sure, no DH, but even 3 would be well below the average, and this just goes to show how much less talented we truly are than many of our posters think us to be. I'd guess Offense likely ends up with 2 (LC and Lumpin) as well.

Yikes.

CONGRATS, however, to Grant and Longa, as well as Quenten Gause (sportsmanship award), for their honors!!
