Pay Schiano 4m/year

Why does the faithful think we can attract better? No one with a name is coming here...would love Strong, Campbell, Mullen but that’s not happening until we win...Schiano can get us back to respectable at least

First off, we have head coach who will be here for two more years, and hopefully many more than that if he is successful.
Second, there is no need to live in the past.

It's not "living in the past" the man is the best Defensive coordinator in the country.

if Gary was coming back, he would have done so when we hired Ash instead. Greg Brown, especially at the time, was the de facto head of the athletic program and ran the search (remember, this was early in the Hobbs tenure) and had great ties to Gary. If we wanted Schiano, or he wanted us, it would have been done

The big change though is the B1G allowing us to now frontload our TV revenue share. 2 years ago, it would have been inconceivable to pay Schiano. Now it's not.

My vote is if Ash loses the rest of the season, we should at least try. Schiano could make us competitive faster than anyone.

If Ash wins another game though, he deserves to keep going.

Don't think Ash will pay his DC that much, unless he's getting double.
RU's OC will want a killer salary as well, if Greg gets that type of money
to bolt the Buckeyes so he can replace Niemann

Ummmm.. wrong script

Schiano loves football
Schiano always looked for players who loved football
Schiano finally coaches for a university that loves football
Rutgers doesn't love football and never really will
Schiano learned that. No matter what kind of football success there would be at RU there would always be that "Oh there goes gravity" moment

Please stop the stupidity... Greg isn’t coming back thankfully... even for if Ash sheets the bed the next two years... the job is not the unattractive one it was even while losing and the reason is B1G $$$$ is coming... new practice facility .... remodel of Hale Center... weight room makeover... and yes it’s coming ...an attached practice facility around 5 years from today...that makes it attractive to the right coach who likes a 4 -5 mil salary...I’m hoping it’s Ash who would be around 46-47 when the $$$$ kicks in ... If notyou’ll finally get your B1G time coach.

Funny, fact is program has never returned to any ranking since Schiano left,Flood bungled the va tech bowl game when RU was last on fringe of a ranking.would take Schiano back in a heatbeat

Schiano not that good- name wins where he beat teams that had better talent than his team

It was literally the opposite that year. We were ranked most of the season, peaking at #15 in the BCS, Harris, and Coaches polls.

Don't forget we were 9-1 at one point, with our only loss to an eleven win Kent State squad.

Perhaps you could add Schiano to that list. What makes you think that if those guys wouldn't take the RU job, GS would? Even if in his heart he wanted it, a guy as calculating as him would pause at the idea of a retread.

If Schiano came back here after winning a NC at OSU (I think they win this year)

What type of buzz would that create?
What is the perception of GS in the college football world?
What affect would GS have walking back into NJ high schools?
Does he have stain?
How much would recrcuiting improve immediately ?

Stop teasing us. It will never happen.

This is just irrational - Greg Schiano is 51 years old, he has carefully chosen his moves since the Tampa experience with the clear intention of setting himself up for the "Big Opportunity" - the ideal chance & ideal position - to head up a team with the right resources and possibilities that, with swift refinement & insightful leadership could be a contender for the national championship.

Schiano is not interested in being the Albert Schweitzer of college football - committing the remainder of his life to being a football coaching missionary - and he is definitely not signing up for some potentially martyr-like extended service tending to the needs of the Rutgers Football program.

Quite simply - the Schiano future story line and the Rutgers story line are not in sync - they have not been since January 26, 2012 - and will not even be close in the next 15 years.

Do you really think Schiano would have wanted to come back? There was a very valid reason why he left.

Please stop with Schiano. It is OVER and it is never coming back. And it's not like his defensive schemes at Ohio State - with all those NFL guys - are dominating. Oklahoma and Penn State scored too often for me to be impressed if Schiano was a 30 year old up and coming DC.
