Penn State Depth Chart

Darius Hamilton will begin the season on the sidelines for Rutgers.

The All-Big Ten defensive tackle, who was limited throughout training camp, is listed as out on the official injury for the season-opener Saturday against Norfolk State. He had hoped to be ready for the first game.

Cornerback Nadir Barnwell, who is in danger of being ruled academically ineligible, also is listed as out with an injury.

Other notables listed as out include wide receiver John Tsimis and safety Kiy Hester.

Cornerback Dre Boggs and defensive end Kemoko Turay are questionable.

A few other guys that came down to PSU/Rutgers are:

Chris Godwin WR
Brandon Bell LB
Nyeem Wartman LB

Also, Jason Cabinda is a NJ guy starting at LB although he didn't have an RU offer.

Did Rutgers have a shot with Garrett sickles?

Let's see.
RU plays Norfolk St on Saturday ( is their depth chart available)
Then WSU on 9/12 ( would like to see their depth chart)
But a PSU FB depth chart is posted so RU fans can talk about the Nits again.

But maybe I'm wrong and this thread was started so we can talk about the Jersey players on the Nittany Lion roster.
and I don't blame any Nit that wants to talk about PSU's roster when they visit this board and see a thread about it.

WOW....not good . "Flood hopes to see Hamilton on the Field sometime this year "
This really is a severe blow to our Defense. If he is out for an extended period might make sense for him to Redshirt.
Too bad DT Stephenson did not return for this season.

Kemoko questionable is a concern and I wouldn't mind hearing he wasn't going to play too much against Norfolk, need him full throttle against WSU.

I'm pretty sure Sickels was one of our first recruits that year and obviously one of the Big Four who held things together for that class.

Cabinda wasn't very highly touted coming out of HS (relatively speaking) but he has really turned some heads already. Apparently the kid hits like a Mack truck.

The most surprising thing on the depth chart to me was John Reid being listed as the #2 CB. We all figured Barkley would get a green light but Reid was a surprise to many of us.

One last thing about Johnson since he was mentioned. Most think he gets drafted ahead of Zettel if he comes out early.

This. Not having the Dragon and Hamilton for our Pass Rush against WSU would be bad. Real bad.

Let's hope the Norfolk game helps them rest and helps their back-ups gain valuable pass rush and game experience .\
Even if it will be against Norfolk, game day experience should help a little
