Game on now on BTN. Very smart move by PSU to schedule game in Philly to maintain recruiting ties etc and to play in front of sellout crowd.

Good chance to watch PSU before our game Tuesday

They’re good and athletic. But not much depth.

Great matchups will be Myles vs Watkins and Stevens vs Harper.

I also have to say here in this thread, for PSU---WE ARE! and having big time programs, can't someone in their design department have a quality looking mascot costume? Forever they have been using that cheesy high school costume for their mascot and it looks laughable. It's amateur time for them. Put some creativity and money behind a new design. There, I vented. I feel better now.

I know I'm in the minority here, but the aura of a place like the Palestra (and even the RAC) makes it a unique place to play games. I know people want a 12,000 seat area with all the bells and whistles, but it's places like this that live forever in one's minds, hearts, and soul.

Iowa’s defense is suspect and Penn State does not share the game, too much one on one and chucking up fast threes.

Observations :

1) PSU actually has a far far better home court environment about 4 hours from campus. Their home environment at state college is by far the lamest in the conference and beyond.

2). That stupid lion roar constantly blarred in is god awful

3) Stevens is easily a first team all conference player . I’m really curious how/ if we can neutralize him.

4) seeing what Garza is doing (who is a really good tough player) Myles can possibly have another field day on Watkins.

5) overall right now PSU looks like the better of the two teams. But if RUs defense can be on point on Tuesday and fustrate their top 3 guys then we have a chance.


6) if I’m coach Pike I would make Jacob Young change his game and put him on a short leash for this one. pSU is gonna block all of his wild layup attempts and they thrive off getting out on the run. I can see a bunch of Young turnovers fueling PSU runs. Gotta manage him on Tuesday

Smart move by Chambers playing this game at the Palestra. They get a big crowd from their Philly alum for Iowa, a game that would not draw well at BJC, and the Palestra is much more similar to the RAC than BJC.
