Per Carino: Friday Sellout Imminent

You think itll be 90/10? Haha what is every shu fan in the state going? I dont think you realize how many alums we have who work in newark, and nyc. Isnt basically all of sections 4,5,6,7 sold to promarily RU fans? And im sure the rest of the pebble with have RU fans sprinkled in. By my count if we dominate sections 4-7 that in itself is already close to 20%
I've been hearing things like this for 20-something years, but the red never gets past 10 percent, so I'll stick with precedent.

This is the reason I like the current RAC attendance capacity. If the curtain is open all ticket prices go down. Curtain up adds revenue.

I think when we get good it is possible to not lose revenue by opening up 1/4 to 1/2 of the prime seats to students. You can then charge double in ticket prices and "seat fees" for the few great seats left.....then the lower 200s get value.

How does the curtain up add revenue? If they knew a couple months ago there would be such demand for the game they definitely would have considered opening up the top which would have definitely resulted in more revenue.

You can't decide the week of the game to eliminate the curtain because of staffing, security, and food.

The way this program is headed demand is going to be way higher than supply for tickets at the RAC in a couple years. Season tickets which have hit a floor will skyrocket.

Going to my first RU game since Mine Rice's 1st year. I think a lot more fans are going to come out of the woodwork.

Got courtside/ floor seats in the Pirate Blue/booster area on the baseline near SH bench....thanks to the SH booster who sold on the cheap! Looking forward to having my red shirt show up nicely on TV

we shall see but we probably only about 1500-1800 season tickets out now..along way to go to get people to plunk down 1000 plus for two tickets. The winning is going to have to come at a high level..meaning NCAA tourneys, people are not buying season tickets in droves for 17-14 seasons

I am going to side with you on this because of just you said, for years we have evidence, not sure that this start is going to bring everyone out...maybe 1200 tops...of course both sides will have different attendence guesses

but I definitely was wrong and have eggo on my face, I thought this game attendence would suffer because of the timing, of course RU being 11-1 has juiced things up for both sides

Ticket prices higher

On the secondary market....For a limited amount of tickets. SHU may get a portion of this (maybe...not sure how it works if they have specific contracts with brokers).

Either way I don't see how holding the curtain down is benefiting SHU in terms of revenue. If they knew they could have sold 12-15K for this game maybe they think about opening the top. I'm sure when RU returns in 2 years you will see those curtains up.

Is it really that much for 200 level tickets? Do they not sell 300 level season tickets?

I expect mini game plans to blow up next year and then season tickets to have an uptick the following year. The thing is with basketball it will only take an NIT run to awaken this fanbase.

200 level has been reduced to somewhere around $800 for two tix....add in parking which I dont buy but thats another $150 or so I think. I do agree that we do get somewhat of a bump for season tickets because we really have bottomed out, but as you said mini plans will be more popular. I am just happy that in my section where there are only like 6 season ticket holders left, its not going to be filled by opposing team fans anymore

I would guess 75-25 or 70-30. Their student section is so quiet

Nope, they don't sell 300 level seasons to new accounts anymore. I feel like if they had a 300 level season ticket option that was say $500-$600 for a pair of seats you'd be able to get people "all-in" quicker and wanting to move down to the 200 level instead of messing with mini-plans for a few years but oh well.
