And since he was on the official staff, he could talk directly to recruits.
Just like any other staff member who is recruiting.
He had to pass the NCAA coaching staff certification or testing if I remember correctly.
Knowledge of permissible and impermissible actions and activities I think?

Did we ever find out his "title" was?
Are there rules around coaching staff titles?
Would be funny to see what he chose.
