I have stated this for years that Phil is by far the best coach I have ever seen in teaching defense. Well today Steve Politi wrote a wonderful article on Phil in today's Ledger. I would just love to see Phil coach our players for one week on defense. He does an amazing job year in and year out. Of course I would love to see him as a coach on our staff but that will probably never happen. Phil is a very good coach on offense too but defense is his specialty. As Steve mentions in the article he thought he was watching the Linden JV team because they were so much smaller than St. Patrick and Roselle Catholic at every position. Well the same thing happened vs. Barringer on Saturday and almost every team Linden has played. Tonight Ridge will be much bigger too but Linden just plays their game with in your face defense for the entire game.
I hope someone can link the article as I am an old man who doesn't know how to link it over. Thanks.

I read the article and wanted to send you it, Art. Did you get to read the article in the paper?

Lots of praise for your coach.

Colicio is a tremendous coach. But the greatest coach in NJ HS history lives in JC. I LOVE watching Linden play.

Well if we can't get Bobby Hurley, does Colicchio have any sons?

Phil Colicchio was a Godsend to Linden. Never thought I would say that about an Elizabeth guy. Nice to see Des Wade has started his way up the coaching tree in Linden. I'm sure he is applying those same principles.

The question is do these guys have the ability to lead an organization and all the other things that go with being a D1 head coach. Although the ego of players rise a few notches I think guys like Colicchio could do a lot better than 2 of the last 3 coaches we have had at RU. Obviously a set of interviews would be extremely important.
