I'm interested. The kid has talent and would have been our starter here if he didn't get sucker punched. I don't agree how he reacted, but none of us really know how we would have reacted.
Would hope most of us would not have kicked a person lying on the street in the head. Drinking or not. Besides, what he did was Flood's fault.
Would have helped us having a B1G level qb the last 2 years if of course he didn't do what he did.

Yeah , while the guy was on the ground and defenseless .
The character type we want on our program.
A good qb can help overcome some of this stuff to a point. Still need the blockers and good coaching.
Nelson kicked the guy after the guy sucker punched him. Nelson's friend had knocked the guy down after Nelson was hit.
Happy for the guy.

Disagree as far as blockers. Plus he was playing against a lower level of competition than the Big Ten. BUT, until his senior year, the assistant coaching staff did nothing to develop him. It was only Ralph Friedgen who really brought him along - man, I wish he had come a year earlier as originally planned.
juist an FYI....all day on the radio here in NC he was referred to as Ex-Rutger QB...or Rutgers transfer
Western Carolina is better then Howard. If Laviano goes 28-32 for 398 and 5 TDs on Saturday, I'll praise him from the rooftops.
That said, do I think Nelson is some great QB? Not really, but he'd be a better fit for the offense we are running now, then the one we had when he transferred here.
