Rutgers (David) beats #1 Purdue (Goliath...replete with two seven footers) and the basketball world /this board is En Fuego!

IMO (no info just belief) Dylan Harper watched the game (his dad, Magic Johnson among other basketball junkies did). The vision of storming the court after beating #1 will be at Jersey Mikes forever....and Dylan might want to be able to go one up on big bro by hitting the shot for B1G Championship or NC championship!

Same with other top recruits we've entertained recently (NAS?).

The Purdue centers played the part of Goliath well...they seemlingly couldn't be stopped....scoring 12 consecutive points in the first half to keep them in the game, and the go ahead basket with 3.2 seconds to go.

Harper's practiced sling slot half court heave was true ....and down goes Goliath.

GO RU!

Let's hope we maintain some momentum. Let's be realistic... If shu beats us the mojo wears off pretty quickly.
Ummm no...we still beat the #1 team in the nation. PERIOD.

The MOJO will get stronger when we re-sole the SHU ....but regardless right now Rutgers is riding a wave of recognition and attention that we wouldn't have received if we had beaten two more teams yet lost to Purdue!

Ride the WAVE!

Easier? Yes. But will he be able to do it? Maybe. We still don’t know if Pike is really capable of bringing in the talent we need so this will be his next biggest test if he wants to stay out of the hot seat in the next couple years. But with huge wins like this and hopefully a win at SHU. It SHOULD be much easier. But we’ll see.

Haven’t seen it said yet but wins like this mean something come Selection time .. if you are on the bubble, the national recognition and attention of this game (assuming Purdue doesn’t go on a slide and stays top-10 down the stretch) could be a factor in the back of the minds of the committee

As stated above, the recruiting should have already gotten better after the last two years but the ‘22 class is actually the worst for Pike so far. The tremendous national publicity we are getting from the Purdue game should help, but if we don’t start trending up in wins after that game and/or unless the coach becomes a better recruiter, nothing will change in recruiting.
