I know Rivals gives kids star ratings, but how does the process work and who exactly does the ratings, and what are their qualifications? And why would I think Rival's ratings are any more accurate than those of Flood or Sciano before him? If Flood really likes a kid who's a two star (ex. Turay) maybe he isn't a two star. Do those who do the ratings have more experience than most of the D1 coaches out there? I would think not. That's also likely much of the reason that the NFL is filled with two and three star players. We look at some the services' ratings like they're gospel when I don't believe we should. They're just someone's opinion, and for all I know that someone could be a twenty-eight year old former high school player who played D3 for two years. Can someone offer up some clarification on the backgrounds of the evaluators?
