Players from NJ or NYC on the roster?

What is the point of this posting? Steve Pikiell was not hired until after the season ended. He did give a scholarship to Matt Bullock from Roselle Catholic via Elizabeth I believe. Most outstanding players from NJ were already taken by other schools. It is not his fault that there are only 2 scholarship players from NJ. Many of us would like to see a few more players from NJ on our team but we must give the present staff a chance. It just seems like some posters are constantly trying to stir something up. I believe if we begin to win more games we will get more NJ players but I really don't care where they come from as long as we bring in good players. As the state university of NJ it would be nice to have at least a few from our state.

I'm sure getting local kids will evolve during Pikiell,s tenure....short term probably not. More important is developing what we have and adding big ten quality pieces as we move forward. A little success on the court will encourage local kids to take a second look at us.

It does not matter who is on the roster. It only matters that the players on the rosters potential are pushed to their ceiling, and then some.

This is not fence the garden. Its shake the RAC.

Every coach has his own recruiting style
I dont care where the players are from
I care that they WANT to BE at Rutgers
and they can win...

I think the stink from the past does not smell as bad the further away you get from the Metro area. Therefore you likely will not be able to change too many local opinions until you show something on the court and then maximize Knight and Hobbs to persuade local talent to give us a look. Need to be very creative and non discriminating regarding where talent comes from at this stage in the process.
