This is no big deal. It's the way a player SHOULD be thinking. We, on the other hand, have the luxury of analyzing without putting our hearts and souls into the contests, and therefore can be a bit more reasoned. Has nothing to do with "attitude" or anything similarly nonsensical.
Nobody here is foolish enough to predict 10 wins. And yes, that would be foolish. But a player should go into every game believing his team has a chance to win. That's just basic.
I remember back during the dark, dark, dark days of Littlepage, Emory Ward predicting the basketball team would win 16, 17 games one year. I remember writing at the time that he must have meant six or seven. I was closer, but he had the right attitude. And that team SUCKED in a crappy conference.
