Politi's Got it Right: Harbaugh / UM Declare WAR on NJ!

A lot of people just sound like whiners on this topic. The guy recruits NJ. He beats us regularly for recruits in our own state. If you don't want him to, camp or not, beat him.
So,e of you are getting really close to saying other schools shouldn't be allowed to recruit in NJ.
So you think that one year is regularly?

I actually disagree with Politi completely, Ash declining the invite is not a great response, there will be coaches there from other regional schools, someone from Rutgers coaching staff should be there to say "we aren't backing down". Perfect response would be for Todderick to get some quotes at the camp from recruits
That are pro Rutgers.
Reppin jerk dna22 we hate you go away with your poopy PSU opinions

Hmmmmm. Ash declines invitation to create his own camp? I'd say Politi was more than right.

This IS war. :uzi:

.

War is real. This is college football. Please do not use that comparison as it insults our real soldiers.

are we not allowed to say "the war on drugs" or "the war on crime" or "the war on cancer"??

it's a phrase. I spoke with my veteran friends. they are not insulted by the term.

@albanyknight you are spot on, NJ football united will speak volumes to the players in state and maybe even those out of state.

Stick to tailgate and cookie posts.
Your friends do not rrepresent all.

I'll be sure to let my combat veteran friends know they don't represent. I'm sure they will be heartbroken that some random message board poster says so.

and by the way, I don't eat cookies nor do I bake cookies so I would never post about cookies. but nice try.

I'm a combat vet and not offended. I love when the QB throws bombs,or when our OL wins the battle in the trenches, or when the DBs blitz. C'mon football is war. I think most intelligent sports fans can make the distinction and without denigrating the service of our veterans. Grow up.

Please let me know when a college FB game afforded anyone a free life.
Sorry but war is not comparable to war

Obvious typo is obvious.

Also, I just checked with The Squid and you didn't poll him, either. So...

That's great.

Still should put up the billboards. But maybe the wording could be less "negative recruiting".

How about:

NO ONE WORKS HARDER TO GET OUT OF STATE RECRUITS. (Jim's nipple pic as the background)

or

MICHIGAN'S BEST COME FROM NEW JERSEY (Peppers, Gary, etc)

They could go with "Rutgers has a snowballs chance in hell of ever getting to the championship game. Come play for a winner. "

At least it would be truth in advertising. It will be interesting to see if you guys or Maryland take 5th place in division this season. To think folks were giving Jackie Moon and the Flint Tropics a hard time. hah

Some of you guys need to stop with the butt hurt already. Sheesh, you don't even have a full share going on, and you run your mouths like you have had the upper hand for decades. WVU should be who you guys are looking at. They are slowly growing in the B12. Rutgers is way behind on facilities/stadium/support. It doesn't happen overnight. It didn't for Michigan, The Bucks, or any other team either.

We have watched plenty of top recruits leave for Ohio, Cali, Bama, or where ever it is warm. One player won the Heisman just a few yrs ago, and went to the same HS that I did as a teen in the 80s....Ingram from Flint SW. It happens. Even if you ever got to be a huge name, some kids just want to go. No need to be a dick about it.

That is the beauty of America though. You are free to do as you wish.

Touched a nerve, did I?

We are "running our mouths" here because this is a Rutgers board.

Stop telling us how to root for our team.

If anyone doesn't know their place, it's you.

Funny... Two years ago the Michigan fans were falling all over themselves begging us to beat them so they could get rid of whatshisname... Now we're suddenly not worthy of being in the same conversation?

Seems the tOSU guys may have been right all along.

If I had to guess I would go with the 3rd personality of reppinJerz and DNA...
Very funny...I don't take any responsibility for either, I don't digress into battles of "words" with other posters...

I do still disagree with both you and Politi, Ash reacted to a hostile takeover attempt by Harbaugh by setting up a camp on the same
Day...but he needed to have Ohio State validate the camp by co-hosting...in one way it can be looked upon as not backing down but in another it can be viewed as ash sees harbaugh as a REAL threat and he can't lean on Ohio state all the time, plus why would he want to give even greater exposure to a recruiting rival to some of NJs best?

I still think the best response would have been to show up in force at Paramus Catholic and let the NJ recruits decide if they were publicly going to endorse both coaching staffs in post camp interviews.

While interesting to think about, high school coaches drawing lines in the sand with their allegiances, ultimately you don't want to alienate any NJ programs as you never know when one school might have that top
Prospect that is a class leader and all
The other jersey kids follow.

Jerz, you got it backwards. Harbaugh sees Ash as a real threat; hence the escalation of tactics (commencement speaker, NJ camps).

Here's the reality: Harbaugh knows he can't close the top local talent when up against OSU, Mich St., and ND.

Michigan fans have been far more arrogant than any other fans I've encountered. Most have been non-alums and so I've wondered if actual alumi were less arrogant. Ive since learned that lesson.

Wrong Jerk, you probably wanted us to camp with PSU- get bent.

Nah, JH just always plans on out working the opponent. You notice that RU is reacting to him, not the other way around.
