Poor Woolfolk Defensively Last Night LOL

To me, he is one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises this year. It seems we're always searching for the ever-elusive depth or back-up big, and he stepped right into the role. I liked his tape coming out of the HS and liked the athletic background (UC football offer), but I thought all along that he would redshirt.

He has some crazy athletic ability. I know it was against Coppin State, but RU was on a break, he got a pass way behind him while he was filling the lane and he somehow jumped, reached behind and across his body and saved the pass to a teammate.

Guy's like him are what can take this program to the next level. RU had talent the last 3 seasons, but the end of the roster was constructed with sticks and duct tape. This year's team has 9, maybe even 10 (if you include Miller), guys that can hold their own in the B10.

Woolf has many qualities that pike looks for in a big i.e passing

Something we are missing with Cliff is passing ability out of the 5. We ran a ton of sets when Myles was here to take advantage of that.

Woolf doesn’t seem to have that same outlet ability as Myles but he does process the game in the half court well. Especially well for a guy that hasn’t been full time in bball until this year. Has shown good touch and a will to compete.

I only expect him to grow with size being his only issue long term. Can he truly bang with B1G 5s full time? I think he can. But he gives us a unique look going forward at minimum.

Once again a great find

Would have liked to see a replay of that. From the live shot, it looked like a phantom foul and a clean steal.
Same. I think the ref said he hooked him with the other hand but didn't look like Edey's body got turned at all. Looked pretty clean. The broadcast did a terrible job showing foul replays

I questioned the call in the live thread and bac responded with "lmfao"

He was shocked because when he responded to the physicality inflicted upon him he was called for a foul every time.
Got to be a shocker.
For most of his life, he was probably the biggest on the court. Now here's 7'4" Edey big as a house & physical. Size was went from an advantage to disadvantage for him last night.
He'll learn and adjust his game. I've been pleasantly surprised & impressed with him so far.

The game threads are a mess with the ref whining

The game threads are a mess with the ref whining

there is certainly fan-whining about refs every game from every fanbase. just reality. you just need to accept thats what fans do - whine about refs.

honestly though aside from the game-robbing bad call in the OSU game I dont remember a large outcry in any of our other games this year. there was no large outcry for the SHU, Miami or Temple loses.

so after 14 games played you finally have 1 game where there was a loud outcry over utterly one-sided officiating. 1 game out of 14.

14 games.
- 13 games - no large outcry (with the exception of ONE game-robbing situation)
- 1 game where a large proportion of the fanbase complained

honestly, as a fanbase I think we are doing pretty good in this regard this year :)

you know, bac, every once in a while, bad officiating DOES IMPACT the game. last night was the first game (aside from the OSU end-game-steal) all season where that was the case

I would like to see Woolf out there WITH Cliff....would create matchup problems down low for teams AND Woolf is a very good passer out of the post
